Born and raised in the Bay Area, Alex Lockwood has always had a passion
for the arts of music and film. Throughout his teenage years he
performed at various venues in northern California with his band as the
bassist and then moved on to Ex'pression College for Digital Art to
learn the trade of recording, post-production, and live sound. Studies
were rigorous and time-consuming but paid off with a Bachelors degree
in the field of Sound Arts. While signal flow and troubleshooting
skills at the recording level were the main focus at Ex'pression, Alex
took that a step further with his job at Jim Dunlop Manufacturing where
it moved to the component level. The electronics technician job there
required the ability to troubleshoot, repair, analyze failures, quality
control, and provide tech support for the customer. During this time
frame, Alex was also freelancing as a Sound Mixer / Boom Operator on
various short films and corporate videos. Now, he has left the Bay Area
in search of a real career in location audio and post-production in the
great city of Los Angeles.
