Matthew Ulm
Matthew Ulm is a Producer/Director/Editor working in Evansville, Indiana. A native of Terre Haute, Indiana he graduated from Indiana State University in May of 2000 with degrees in Communication and Business. In September of 2001 he accepted a position at Stage One Media, Inc. Stage One contracts to Mead Johnson Nutrition (a Fortune 1000 Infant and Toddler Nutrition company) to provide in-house video production, graphic services and A/V support. His work took him to locations across the country as he worked with health care professionals and business executives on many projects during his tenure.

In August of 2013 he left Stage One to partner with long-time friend Larry Swank at FortySixTen Studios, Inc. The company, up to that time, had focused on web development, SEO and social media management. The addition of Ulm added video production experience to the portfolio of products. Officially he entered as the COO and Lead Producer.

In 2013 Ulm also met Writer/Producer/Director Chip Rossetti through their mutual affiliation with the Indiana Filmmakers Network. Rossetti was just about to begin production on his film "Right to Believe" and he was added to the crew as a camera operator and to assist with lighting. The two struck up a quick friendship and have worked together ever since.

Matthew's parents, Gregory and Denise, are both retired educators and graduates of Indiana State University. He has an older sister that works in the health care industry and a younger sister that is in the energy sector. He attended the University School on the campus of Indiana State University from preschool to eighth grade. Ulm attended Middle School at Woodrow Wilson for a year and then Terre Haute North Vigo High School from 1992-1995. His primary focus during that time was music as he participated in many band programs. After graduation Ulm attended Indiana University for his Freshman year. The most important course he took during that year, which captured his imagination, was An Introduction to Film. Ulm had always been a film fan and fond of gadgets. However this course was his first exposure to film as an art. Watching classics like Stagecoach and Rear Window, then participating in discussion and deconstruction were invigorating experiences.

Ulm transferred to Indiana State University the following year where he announced a dual-major of Business-Management and Communications-Radio/TV/Film. While finding his businesses courses mentally stimulating his passion lay in the Communications department. Joe Tenerelli and Jeff Perkins were his mentors in this program as he learned about shot composition, lighting, scripting and the myriad other facets of the creative process.

Ulm has created and worked on multiple Award Winning projects including "Jacob's Turn" (Regional Emmy and Silver Telly), "Nutramigen 70th Anniversary" (Bronze Telly), and "ISU Recruitment Video" (Bronze Telly). In 2019 he helped found, and serve as Festival Director for, the Victory International Film Festival in Evansville, Indiana.
