Fox’s The Quiz with Balls will return for season two, with Jay Pharoah (SNL) back as host. Season one premiered in May 2024 and earned the #1 spot among new series last summer. The network didn’t confirm a launch date for season two.

Fox Renews The Quiz With Balls, Hosted by Jay Pharoah, for Season Two!

“The Quiz With Balls,” the high-stakes game show hosted by “Saturday Night Live” alum Jay Pharoah, has been renewed for Season 2 at Fox.

Each episode of the series pits two families against each other, answering multiple-choice trivia questions and competing for $100,000. The contestants stand over a pool of water with giant balls looming above them. If they choose the correct answer, the ball rolls down and stops just before hitting them. If they screw up, the ball pummels down the ramp and whacks them into the water. As each team loses members, the questions get harder, until one “dry” family member remains and plays for the $100,000 grand prize.

“During its first season, ‘The Quiz With Balls’ really broke through, thanks to a mix of engaging playability, comedic physical stakes, and our terrific host Jay Pharoah, who artfully invites viewers into the fun,” said Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network.

Tonight’s live show had Alec Baldwin, Will Ferrell, Jay Pharoah, Tina Fey, Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler in attendance but there was nothing of the presidents and presidential candidates they’ve played and poked fun at over nearly 10 presidencies.

Saturday Night Live has delivered a regular dose of New York City to millions of TV viewers for a half-century. Now, the city – or at least Midtown Manhattan – is getting a heavy dose of SNL.

Downstairs from the NBC staple’s home at 30 Rock’s Studio 8-h, NBCUniversal has been preparing the area in and around Rockefeller Plaza for the show’s 50th anniversary weekend. While the headline event will be Sunday night’s three-hour live special, the festivities got under way Friday morning with a stock market bell-ringing and final set-up for Sunday’s massive red carpet.

Banners affixed to neighboring buildings and light poles salute “SNL 50” and streets are blocked to vehicle traffic between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Starting earlier this week, pedestrians have been re-routed around Rockefeller Center, with the area around the center’s signature ice rink dominated by a large series of tall black tents.

Invincible featured some rather dark moments in its first three episodes, but the young superhero is starting to find his footing. Can Mark and Eve make an actual relationship work? Can they even survive without the help of Cecil and the Gda? “You Were My Hero” begins to answer some of these questions and opens up new ones. It also pushes us into the cosmos with a unique double episode. “You Were My Hero” combines incredible tragedy, sweet romance, and horrifying action in ways only Invincible can deliver.

With less than one month to go until Invincible returns to Prime Video with its third season, some new stills and a first look at the villainous Powerplex have been released.

Mark Grayson's new blue suit is also put front and centre as is his younger brother Oliver (soon to be known as Kid Omni-Man). Atom Eve and Cecil Stedman can also be seen in action.

The animated series has a large fanbase and there's been some frustration in the past about the long wait between seasons. That looks set to change with seasons 3 and 4, with the stakes expected to be significantly higher across these next batches of episodes.

Saturday Night Live has served as a launching pad to TV superstardom (Tina Fey and Bill Hader), dominance at the box office and even #1 music albums (Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi). But not every SNL star goes on to greater showbiz heights.

Ccxp in São Paolo, Brazil, unveiled several new first-looks, including for “Yellowjackets” Season 3, the prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin,” the Paramount+ original movie “Star Trek: Section 31,” “Invincible” Season 3, and “The Wheel of Time” Season 3.

“Yellowjackets” Season 3

“Yellowjackets” Season 3 debuts on Feb. 14 on Paramount+ with Showtime. As previously announced, both Hilary Swank and Joel McHale will guest star in the new season. The returning cast includes: Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Kruege, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, and Simone Kessell, with Elijah Wood returning in a recurring role.

The action-packed first trailer for the third season of Prime Video's acclaimed adult animated series, Invincible, debuted during Ccxp last night, and has now been officially released online (via Toonado.com).

Like the recent poster, the trailer gives away quite a few major plot points including the fact that Mark Grayson and Cecil Steamman ultimately become enemies after some particularly shady dealings from the latter.

We also get a first look at Oliver Grayson suited-up as Kid-Omni-Man (The Mauler Twins probably shouldn't be taking this youngster quite so lightly), a brand-new villain known as Powerplex, Mark donning his new costume, and much more.

Previously: Prime Video has set Thursday, February 6, 2025 for the Season 3 premiere of Invincible, its adult-animated superhero series from Skybound Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios. The third season will launch with the first three episodes on February 6 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, with subsequent episodes dropping every Thursday through March 13.

Based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, Invincible follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson, voiced by Steven Yeun, as he inherits his father’s superpowers and sets out to become Earth’s greatest defender, only to discover the job is more challenging than he could have ever imagined.

Today, Prime Video debuted the official trailer for Invincible season three during the Prime Video multi-title panel at Ccxp, Brazil’s fan and comic book convention in São Paulo.

Voice cast members Sandra Oh, Gillian Jacobs, and co-creator, executive producer, and co-showrunner Robert Kirkman helped reveal the official trailer and gave a sneak peek into the upcoming season in a room packed with over 3,500 enthusiastic fans.

In addition to the show panel, thousands of convention attendees were transported into the world of Invincible through an immersive show-floor activation from Prime Video, which put fans right into the action with exclusive photo-ops and an experiential sneak peek of season three.

The first trailer for the third season of acclaimed adult animated series, Invincible, is expected to debut during Ccxp at some point tomorrow, but Prime Video mistakenly shared it on the streaming site a little early.

The teaser was quickly taken down, but not before some audio and quite a few high-quality screenshots were posted online.

Like yesterday's poster, it looks like the trailer is going to give away quite a few major plot points, including the fact that Mark Grayson and Cecil Steamman ultimately become enemies after some particularly shady dealings from the latter.

None of this will come as a surprise to anyone who's read the comics, but just in case, here's a spoiler warning.

There was a significant gap (over two years) between the first and second seasons of Prime Video's Invincible, but we had been assured that the wait for season 3 wouldn't be as long, which was recently confirmed via the release of the first teaser.

Invincible will return to our screens on February 6, 2025 - and there will be no pesky mid-season break!

Now, the streamer has released the first official season 3 key art for the adult animated series, and if you're not familiar with the comics, the image counts as a pretty big spoiler!

The recent teaser saw a now 19-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) meeting with Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins) in a café in a similar set-up to the season 2 teaser with Allen the Alien. Now a household name thanks to I Think You Should Leave, Tim Robinson was previously a relatively unknown cast member and writer on SNL, but all things considered, he's found the right role for himself. There have now been 50 seasons and counting of Saturday Night Live, and countless writers and cast members have made their way through the doors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza in that time. Some members have stuck around for years, while some SNL cast members don't make it very long at all. Others jump from writing to the cast or vice versa.

Tyler Perry, Regina King, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and “The Best Man’s” Malcolm D. Lee will be honored at the Critics Choice Association’s seventh annual Celebration of Black Cinema and Television.

Actor and comedian Jay Pharoah, best known for “Saturday Night Live” and his recent comedy special “Jared,” will host the gala on Dec. 9 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air on Starz in January 2025. It will then be televised on Ktla and shown nationwide on select Nexstar stations through the month of February in honor of Black History Month.

Perry will be presented with the Icon Award, celebrating his body of work. In addition to his upcoming Netflix film “The Six Triple Eight”, Perry has helmed 24 feature films, 20 stage plays, 17 television shows and penned two New York Times bestselling books, in addition to establishing the 330-acre Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.

Adam Ray is bringing his Dr. Phil parody to Netflix with a wild new special in which the comedian — dressed as the mustachioed talk show host — will come face to face with Dr. Phil himself.

Debuting on Netflix on Nov. 19, the untitled “Adam Ray’s Dr. Phil Comedy Special” will also see Ray-as-Phil interview special guests including Patton Oswalt, Jay Pharoah and “Gollum,” and get to know the audience through silly questions and games.

Ray’s “Dr. Phil Live!” had become one of the hottest tickets at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles before the comedian took it on the road across America. The show will soon expand beyond the United States.

The Netflix special marks the first time the real Dr. Phil has sat down in person with Ray.

The comedian will next take “Dr. Phil Live!” to the New York Comedy Festival on Nov. 15, where he will be headlining at the Beacon Theatre.

"Saturday Night Live" has been going on for 50 seasons now, so they've had their fair share of bad hosts. Sometimes the host is simply not that comfortable with live acting -- looking at you, January Jones or Jacob Elordi -- and sometimes the host has the bad luck of getting a cold at the worst possible moment, like what seemingly happened to poor Jean Smart in the season 50 premiere. Other times the host is bad because, well, they're just kind of a bad person.

Case in point: Steven Seagal, who hosted in April 1991 and helped deliver an episode so terrible that it got him banned from the show forever. Over three decades later, most "SNL" fans are happy to just pretend the episode never happened, because ite was a trainwreck in a way that wasn't even that fun or interesting.
