Chris Lane is a leap year baby, born on 29 February 1984 in Manchester, England. He is an award-winning producer at Leapling Films, known for producing the acclaimed short films Softy (2025), Inertia (2021) and A Father's Day (2016).
Alongside his work at Leapling Films, Chris regularly freelances on film and HETV projects in the North of England.
Notable freelance credits include Production Manager on A Very British Christmas (2019) starring OSCAR winner Rachel Shenton, Production Coordinator on CBBC's So Awkward Academy (2024) and Assistant Director on Phoenix Rise (2023), It's a Sin (2021), Brassic (2019) and Curfew (2019).
Chris also supports emerging talent and new voices in the industry. He was Executive Producer on the BFI NETWORK short film MUG (2022) starring Haiesha Mistry (Hollyoaks), and volunteers with Media Trust, mentoring underrepresented creatives. Chris is a member of The Production Guild, BECTU and BAFTA Connect.
