Christian Taylor is an award-winning director, producer, writer, casting director, actor, and voice actor whose career spans over 45 years across stage, screen, and microphone. Best known for her powerful documentary The Girl Who Wore Freedom, Christian has earned international acclaim for her ability to bring history to life through deeply human storytelling.

Born Christian Clark Johnson in Biloxi, Mississippi and raised in Laurel, she was the oldest of four girls and developed an early love for storytelling and performance. She honed her craft at The Stony Brook School in New York and later earned a BA in Drama from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She launched her professional acting career with the National Players, the nation's longest-running classical touring company, performing roles from Orwell to Shakespeare.

Christian's voice and vision have made her a sought-after collaborator in the entertainment industry. Her documentary work-including Grueling Glory, and the upcoming Heroes of Carentan and The Brave Dutch-reflects her passion for honoring untold stories, especially those of veterans and ordinary people who lived through extraordinary times.

In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Christian is a respected casting director in Chicago, a mentor to emerging storytellers, and the host and producer of the Documentary First podcast, where she shares insights into the art and business of nonfiction filmmaking.

Christian lives outside Chicago with her husband, Jeremy and their two cats. She continues to use her platform to champion faith, freedom, and the transformative power of story.
