He began his professional acting career in 2001, gaining recognition through national campaigns for brands like Samsung, Honda, McDonald's, Jack in the Box, and Edward Jones. A standout moment came when director Robert Rodriguez hand-selected Rafael for a Slim Jim commercial.
He later expanded into film and television, with credits including Netflix's The Last Laugh, Daniel Laab's acclaimed indie Jules of Light and Dark, and appearances on The Righteous Gemstones, Deputy, NCIS: New Orleans, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger, and Queen of the South.
