Growing up, Vincent's parents were both successful artists in their own rights. His mother was a very successful Opera Singer (Maria Pellegrini, OMRI) and his father was an Operatic Stage Director (Steven Thomas). His great-grandfather, who was the bandmaster for the Peterborough Temple Salvation Army band, introduced him to brass instruments at a young age. His parents also got him occasional horseback riding lessons. During High School he was regularly active in various bands, sports, and dramatic arts productions. He was also active as an Air Cadet, where he received many accolades, and studied Kendo for 2 years.
He attended Humber College for the Performing Arts in Toronto, studying Jazz, specializing in Trumpet and Voice. While there, he was able to get a job at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament as a Royal Trumpeter. The allure of "Knighthood" was too great. With his background in acting, sports, kendo, and horseback riding, it was only a few months before he was training as a knight. He was there for almost 7 years and was champion for the last 3 years of his time there.
During his time there, he started to play trumpet in the Canadian Jazz, Rock and Latino circuit with several bands, including "Juan Miguel", "Anthony V e su Escalada", "Primal Therapy", "Hammerthumb" and "47 Ronin". Seeking new adventures, he continued with these endeavors and then worked to expand his artistic world.
A resourceful person with a large skill set, it wasn't long before he was also booking acting gigs, ranging from stage, film, corporate, commercial, and television roles.
Wanting to keep his combat skills up, he worked with several stage combat groups and obtained Advanced certification with the Academy of Fight Directors' Canada He has also worked and/or trained with members of Rapier Wit, Scallagrims, the International Order of the Sword and Pen, and the Knights of Valour. He has dozens of Fight director and performer credits to his name.
A lover of Verdi and Mozart opera, Vincent was offered an opportunity to direct his first main stage show, Mozart's Don Giovanni, in 2010 for Pellegrini Opera in Ottawa. After several successful shows, he was named Artistic Director in 2014 and oversaw the successful execution of almost a dozen shows, before its dissolution in 2022, due to complications relating to the COVID pandemic.
Vincent continues to work in this multi-faceted artistic world and resides in a full house in Toronto, with his wife, daughter, mother, mother-in-law, dog, and a very needy cat.
