Darren Moore(IV)
Darren Moore is known for his sustainable design and construction,
referred to by many as the "Eco-MacGyver." While traveling the world,
he employed his personality and building skills to raise money and
rebuild communities in Thailand that were hit by the 2004 tsunami. When
Darren returned to the U.S. his focus became to add value through his
work and inspire others to take on the challenge of building better
homes, connecting large issues to small by motivating others to make
simple everyday choices. In 2006, Darren founded his company,
Ecovations Lifestyle Inc. focusing on sustainable building practices
and lifestyle choices. Ecovations is a for-good company that solves
ecological problems in the world through design, construction and
consulting. Ecovations' is a B-corp certified business and 1% for the
Planet member. Ecovations' range of services include architectural and
interior design, building and fabrication, general contracting,
consulting, production, set reclamations and production design,
educational programs and waste diversion. In 2008, during the height of
the "green" movement, Moore became the co-host of the television show
"Alter Eco" on Discovery Communication's channel Planet Green. He has
since been involved in various lifestyle design related shows such as
"Living with Ed". Darren often appears as a contributing producer and
on-camera technical-consultant and personality. He also headed up the
redesign and rebuild of actress Suzy Amos' ecologically minded, "Muse
School" in Malibu. He has been a speaker at Eco Chic New York Fashion
Week, Go Green Expo, and a variety of eco-events nationwide. Darren was
mostly recently seen as one of the most resilient competitors on NBC's
reality show, "American Dream Builders".
