Since the comic's ending, The Walking Dead TV show show has also reached its conclusion, but continues to endure through a series of spinoff projects.

As for the future of The Walking Dead comics, things are a little more uncertain. It doesn't help that Kirkman plays tricks on his fans almost as a hobby. Since the ending of the main series, there have been two volumes of Tillie Walden's Clementine graphic novel, a sequel to Telltale's Walking Dead video game, which is canon to the comics. But other than that, Kirkman has not returned to his beloved zombie world.

Now, Deadline reports that they’re getting into the Emily Carpenter business, as they’re developing a TV series based on Carpenter’s upcoming novel Gothictown, with Abby Ajayi on board serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

The animated superhero series “Invincible” will return for its third season on Amazon Prime Video in early 2025 without taking a mid-season break. The streaming service announced on [Date] that the upcoming season will premiere with three episodes on February 6th and continue with one new episode each week, wrapping up the eight-episode run without an interruption.

This update directly addresses criticism from some fans of the show’s second season. That season was split into two halves of four episodes each, separated by a four-month gap between them. The new continuous release format echoes the successful model of the first season. The announcement teaser poked fun at the scheduling issues by depicting a character telling the show’s protagonist Mark Grayson he took “a four-month vacation right in the middle of things” last season.

Series creator Robert Kirkman has acknowledged that animation production timelines were a significant challenge leading to the split second season.

However, with a blend of humor and honesty, the actor, 51, once revealed his playful envy of Jon Bernthal’s character, Shane Walsh. Today, Prime Video revealed the highly anticipated Burger Mart-inspired teaser trailer, which announced the Invincible Season 3 premiere date. The critically acclaimed adult-animated superhero series is co-produced by Skybound Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios.

The first three episodes of Invincible Season 3 will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories beginning on Thursday, February 6, 2025, with additional episodic drops available every Thursday through March 13.

Amazon Prime Video has announced that the animated series will return on Feb. 6. The first three episodes of the third season will drop on that date, with new episodes debuting weekly on Thursdays thereafter through March 13.

Amazon has also released a teaser for the new season, which sees Mark (Steven Yeun) getting grilled at Burger Mart by Cecil (Walton Goggins) about his lack of preparations for future Viltrumite attacks. He also pokes fun at the fact the show took an extended break in the middle of its second season.

Over two years passed between the end of season 1 and the airing of season 2, and then we only got four episodes of season 2 before the show went on hiatus for another three+ months before we got to see the other four. Comic Book creator Rob Liefeld is returning to Youngblood with Image Comics. The plan is to create new Youngblood media and merchandise, kicking off with a brand-new title written and illustrated by Liefeld, set to launch from Image Comics next year.

Liefeld will reteam with Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, who first launched Image Comics in April 1992.

Rosenberg is CEO of Platinum Studios Inc., which manages Youngblood for the property’s owner, Rip Media Inc.

Youngblood followed Liefeld’s break-out success at Marvel, where he created and established Deadpool, Cable, and X-Force as top-selling characters. Youngblood became the first independent non-Marvel, non-dc Comic title to chart at #1 and sell over 1M copies. The original Youngblood miniseries sold over 25M copies worldwide, and its publication history spans over 100 issues with featured contributions throughout its run from comic talents such as Robert Kirkman Alan Moore, and Mark Millar.

Says Liefeld, “It’s so great that I can run into the comfort of characters that I created, that launched a movement. They carry such history. I love Youngblood so much. These characters are my absolute passion.”

Rosenberg adds, “Rob and I are a fantastic team, and I’m as excited now for Youngblood’s relaunch as I was in 1992 for its initial launch. Comic book creator Rob Liefeld is plotting a return to the property that helped launch his post-Marvel career more than 30 years ago.

Liefeld will return to write and illustrate a Youngblood title for Image Comics, which will publish the book next year. It marks his first work on the property in seven years, and he is working with Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, who oversees the property for rights holder, Rip Media Inc.

“It’s so great that I can run into the comfort of characters that I created, that launched a movement. They carry such history. I love Youngblood so much. These characters are my absolute passion,” said Liefeld.

Youngblood came after Liefeld created breakout hits for Marvel, including Deadpool, Cable and X-Force. Then in 1992, he and other top creators departed Marvel to launch Image. Youngblood launched Image Comics, and became the first title outside of Marvel or DC to bow at No.

I was lucky enough to discuss the game, the future of the franchise and what we can expect, and much more with Arthur Parsons, game director and driving visionary of Funko Fusion at Gamescom 2024.

It is difficult to imagine Invincible without J.K. Simmons’ Omni-Man. Perhaps one of the breakout performances of the show, Simmons has managed to cement himself as one of modern Hollywood’s greatest tragic characters, right up there with the likes of Darth Vader and Thanos.

It is because of this celebrated performance that it is odd to imagine that the actor turned down the role initially, not finding himself to be fit for the role of the Viltrumite. Speaking with Collider, he revealed what went through his mind when he eventually read the script, talking about how it might not have worked out for him after all.

This was the rallying cry from fans during the early days of “The Walking Dead” on the way to an 11-season run, as Norman Reedus’ character, Daryl Dixon, quickly rose to the forefront of the expansive ensemble and became a favorite.

And it’s not hard to see why.

Dixon was a wholly original creation absent from Robert Kirkman’s comic book source material. Thanks to his characterization as a taciturn badass with a slowly-revealed heart of gold (a sturdy archetype in pop culture if ever there was one) coupled with Reedus’ multi-layered portrayal, fans proclaimed loudly and passionately that, while the “Walking Dead” cast was famously expendable from the start, Daryl was not.

As such, the franchise shifting to smaller, character-centric spinoffs in the aftermath of the flagship’s conclusion in 2022 has been particularly suited to Daryl, allowing his progress to continue while rewarding...

The team behind the project are pitching it as ‘live-action anime’ and Deadline can share the first sneak peeks, and report that Cineflix Rights will handle distribution. It will launch the series internationally at MIPCOM, the biggest TV market of year.

The eight-part drama is based upon the hit graphic novel of the same name, created by Mortal Kombat 2’s Shawn Kittelsen and Eric Zawadzki.

Thanks to Prime Video's animated adaptation, Invincible is one of the most popular superhero properties in the world right now. Everyone wants a slice. For instance, Skybound Entertainment is in early development of a triple-a video game, and of course, a live-action movie has long been in the works at Universal.

Announced in 2017, the live-action movie seems no closer to becoming a reality than it was back then. Almost seven years after it was announced, Robert Kirkman has finally weighed in on the project. The good news? It's still very much happening! The bad news? Invincible on the big screen remains many years away. In terms of a timeline, we don't know, but Kirkman recently joked to The Direct that "it may take so long that Timothée Chalamet can play Omni-Man."

A live-action adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s Invincible was announced four years before the animated series even premiered on Prime Video, and still, there’s been little movement on the movie. Is it even still happening? According to Kirkman, apparently so. They’re just taking their time with it.

“It’s still in development,” Kirkman said at San Diego Comic-Con (via The Direct). “We’re still working with Universal. You know, the show is going so well. I think the movie absolutely has to be perfect. And so it’s taking a lot of time, like getting the pieces aligned and getting everything to work so that we can come out and make it as good as it can possibly be. So it’s been in development for a long time, and it’s probably going to be in development for a while longer.“

Similar to The Boys, Amazon’s animated adaptation of the Invincible comic book also became a huge hit for the company. This animated adaptation of a popular comic offers us a whole new perspective on the superhero genre than that we had been used to while – at the same time – parodying conventional American superhero comics.

Even though it is an animated series, it has managed to attract a lot of interest and became one of Amazon’s most popular programs in a variety of ways. It achieved this by attracting a substantial audience and building a devoted and engaged following. For this reason, it is among the most captivating and watched television shows today.

But, while the animated series is pushing forward, many fans are wondering about the state of the live-action adaptation that was announced by The Hollywood Reporter back in 2017. And while no official updates have been given,...

We first learned of plans for a live-action Invincible movie in 2017. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg boarded the project as writers and directors, with Point Grey Pictures and Skybound Entertainment producing and Universal Pictures set to distribute. 

All signs pointed to the project being a priority. Unfortunately, it seems to have fallen by the wayside, with the focus shifting to Prime Video's animated Invincible TV series based on Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley's comic book. 

There have been a few updates suggesting the movie is still happening, something Kirkman confirmed during an interview with The Direct when he said, "It's still in development."

The prolific comic book writer added, "We're still working with Universal. You know, the show is going so well. I think the movie absolutely has to be perfect. And so it's taking a lot of time, like getting the pieces aligned and getting everything...

While audiences are currently enamored by the Amazon Studios animated Invincible series, many might have forgotten that a live-action film was announced years ago—and it is still in development.

The original announcement was made by The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, a full four years before the animated show aired. At the time, it was revealed that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg would write and direct the film, but not much well was known at the time.

Ever since then, however, word has been minimal on the project’s status—generally only including brief confirmations from Invincible creator Robert Kirkman that the movie is still alive.
