Johnny Starks born in the Ruff, sometimes scary but always a beautiful skyline city called Chicago. Johnny's mother was a grade school drop out who was raped by the sins of the streets and the grittiness of the corners that connected them. Johnny saw drug abuse, alcohol abuse and prostitution way to early in life and as consistent as Saturday morning cartoons in the 80's.
His biological father is unknown and as a result of his mothers addictions and lifestyle Johnny and his twin sisters where raised by a strong Mississippi born woman affectionately called "Grandma".
Grandma worked long hours just to make ends meets and raised Johnny and his sisters the best she could. Grandma didn't take no mess from a single soul. She was as tough as they came during her generation. Grandma's attitude anchored from a time where being black meant always being the victim of the harsh reality of racism.
Grandma didn't spare the rod either, She was the equalizer with that belt, making sure you knew what discipline was if you acted up.
Johnny has always focused on his creative and performing abilities to take his mind off those realities of his up bringing, with the goal of always looking to be better than what he saw growing up. Which is why he carries and always shares is personal saying.
When life puts too much on your plate, don't stress, Koolout.
