Dinesh Shenoy is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and producer whose journey through the Indian and international film industries spans over 28 years.
A diploma holder in Cinematography, Shenoy began his career in 1997, working hands-on in the technical departments of film sets, taking on roles such as light boy, focus puller, gaffer, and eventually an independent cinematographer. These foundational years allowed him to develop a deep understanding of visual storytelling and production mechanics from the ground up.
In 2004, he transitioned into production with a significant milestone, serving as Chief Production Coordinator for Ashutosh Gowariker's acclaimed film 'Swades'. Over the next decade and a half, Shenoy worked on several high-profile Indian and international productions, including Gowariker's 'Jodhaa Akbar', Mohsen Makhmalbaf's 'Scream of the Ants', Wes Anderson's 'The Darjeeling Limited', Adrien Brody's 'The Experiment', Raj & DK's debut feature '99' and Rahul Gandotra's Student Oscar nominee short film 'The Road Home'.
Simultaneously, he ran his own production company, Infocus Pictures, which specialised in producing corporate films and TV commercials, further sharpening his skills as a producer and storyteller.
In 2022, Shenoy made his directorial debut with the Kannada short film 'Madhyantara', a meditative and poignant narrative he wrote, researched, produced, and directed. The film was selected for the prestigious Indian Panorama section at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI). It went on to win two National Awards at the 70th National Film Awards: the Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) for Best Debut Director, and the Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) for Best Editing (Non-Feature Film).
Dinesh is working on his first feature film and is committed to telling meaningful stories honestly and in cinematic depth.
