Fake Blood is a delicious curiousity: it’s a documentary about director Rob Grant and his frequent collaborator Mike Kovac, who also co-writes, exploring their responsibility in depicting cinematic violence.
Or at least that’s how it starts.
Over time the film slowly morphs into something different. As the two men embark on a mission to “experience” the kinds of violence depicted in their low budget films, they slowly become immersed in a narrative of their own making involving a “real-life” murderer named “John.”
Grant is well known in indie horror circles. In addition to directing under-the-radar gem Harpoon, he’s the editor of films like Knuckleball and this year’s Influencer.

Quentin Tarantino has floated around the possibility of doing another Kill Bill film. But the filmmaker hasn’t seemed to commit to the idea.
One of the reasons Uma Thurman said Tarantino wasn’t ready for a Kill Bill Vol. 3 was because of her looks.

Tarantino and Thurman have only done three movies together. But those three movies were enough to have a huge influence on Thurman’s career trajectory. The pair first collaborated on Pulp Fiction, which turned Tarantino into one of Hollywood’s most well-known directors overnight. From there, Tarantino recalled forming a unique bond with Thurman that he couldn’t quite pinpoint the source of.
“It’s just this cool connection that happened while we were doing Pulp Fiction. I mean, von Sternberg had Marlene Dietrich, Hitchcock had Ingrid Bergman, Andre Techine had Catherine Deneuve.

Musicians often give warm shout outs to their fans in interviews and onstage, but not all their encounters with fans are pleasant. Some artists face unruly crowds, angry demands, and intrusions into their private lives. A number have spoken about the problems they have with fans. Early in Bob Dylan’s time in New York, he met Victor Maymudes, the man who would become his road manager. The two worked together for years before a hostile argument shattered their friendship. Even before this fight, Maymudes noted that working for Dylan wasn’t always easy. He was broody, prone to anger, and, Maymudes complained, didn’t smell great. Dylan’s longtime road manager shared the challenges of working for the musician.

Nominated for eleven Academy Awards, the movie features a captivating blend of humor, drama, science fiction, and martial arts. The film literally has everything. And while the movie is great for many reasons, Stephanie Hsu’s unforgettable performance as the wonderfully pessimistic Jobu Tupaki has to be at the top of the list.
All the pieces are in place for Jobu Tupaki to become a fan favorite: incredible clothes, a 5,000-level attitude, and some truly awesome fight scenes. However, while being the story’s antagonist, Jobu is also pivotal to its progression, which is a role that requires considerable acting skill. Fortunately, Hsu was the perfect person for the job. Jinger Vuolo’s book, Becoming Free Indeed, is mostly about her life and her journey away from the Institute of Basic Life Principles. The Iblp is the ultra-conservative Christian ministry she, and her 18 siblings, were raised around. Still, Jinger’s memoir does touch on her familial relationships. The 29-year-old influencer even discusses convicted felon Josh Duggar in the non-fiction offering.
Jinger Vuolo hasn’t spoken to Josh Duggar in years
Jinger has a somewhat distant relationship with her ultra-conservative family. Some of that is due to geography, and some of it seems to be a personal choice. In Becoming Free Indeed, Jinger states that she hasn’t seen or spoken to her brother, Josh Duggar, in nearly two years, at the time of writing. Based on the book’s timeline and when it was published, it’s obvious that Jinger, like several other siblings, appeared to pull away from Josh...

Jinger no longer adheres to the strict religious values she grew up with as a member of the Duggar family. The clan was grounded in the beliefs of the Iblp, a religious sect run by Bill Gothard.
However, after realizing many beliefs she once had no longer aligned with her life, Jinger pulled away from the religion. She says the Iblp has “a lot of characteristics of a cult, but I’m not an expert on that.

Jinger Vuolo was originally pinpointed by 19 Kids and Counting viewers as the family rebel. Following her marriage to Jeremy Vuolo, Jinger’s behavior wasn’t nearly as rebellious as viewers thought it would be. Her sister, Jill Dillard, became the more outspoken family member. Now, Jinger has wrestled back the trophy for the most rebellious Duggar daughter. In her upcoming memoir, Becoming Free Indeed, Jinger admits that her thought process about many of her family’s teachings is different now. During a recent interview, she admitted that traditional dating might be better than strict, controlled courtships. Her statements go against what her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, preached for years.

The 2023 Golden Globes was a night of memorable wins, stunning fashion, and, well, Brad Pitt. And while the televised broadcast featured plenty of special moments, there was a lot the cameras didn’t capture at The Beverly Hilton on Tuesday evening.

Et was live on the red carpet and inside the annual awards show, and got some insider details and eyewitness accounts of what when down when the cameras weren’t rolling.
Everyone loves a good manicure, and Anya Taylor-Joy and Julia Garner were spotted greeting each other and showing off their nails as they arrived at the show. An eyewitness says the women “seem thrilled to see each other” as they introduced their significant others.

Upon meeting Bell, however, Stamos felt their nearly 17-year age difference was too great. "I just was so lofty and thought, 'I'm old,'" he said.

Earlier in the day, Jon Hamm was spotted in Park City, Utah, promoting his latest film, Marjorie Prime. The 45-year-old actor took time off his busy schedule to stop by the Variety Studio at Sundance to get acquainted with the new Google Home, a voice-activated speaker designed to play any song in the world. Hamm's tune of choice was "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin.

Image Source: Getty / Michael Kovac Something that has been bothering us for a while now (besides, you know, climate-change deniers, bars that don't serve Rosé, and when something in the sale section isn't actually on sale) is the fact that Lily Collins, ubertalented actress and owner of some of the best brows in the business, doesn't have a British accent. That sounds like a nonsensical thing to be bothered by, because it is, but bear with us: even though her father is British and she did have an accent in the 2014 film Love, Rosie, Lily does not, in fact, have a British accent Irl. And we just feel like she should. Image Source: Getty / Todd Williamson Lily's father is, of course, the great English singer and former Genesis frontman Phil Collins. Her mother is Jill Tavelman, Phil's second wife and the former president of the Beverly Hills Women's Club. The 27-year-old was born in Surrey,...

“It’s sort of what I’m supposed to do,” says the legendary songwriter/composer Burt Bacharach — a man who has written the music for 48 Top 10 hits, including nine that reached the top of the charts, and who has won eight Grammys, three Oscars and the Library of Congress’ 2011 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song — as we sit down in his Pacific Palisades piano room to record an episode of The Hollywood Reporter‘s ‘Awards Chatter’ podcast, and I ask him what keeps him working at the age of 88. “Sometimes I have to force it,” he admits. “But it’s what I’ve done. Even if I don’t write anything any good, just let me keep my fingers wet.”
Bacharach certainly has kept his fingers wet, of late: in 2016, for John Asher’s Po, an indie drama about...

Image Source: Getty / Michael Kovac Taylor Swift is giving back in a big way. On Wednesday, Jaime King took to Instagram to publicly thank the singer for making a donation for congenital heart defect research at La's Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in honor of Jaime's son, Leo, who also happens to be Taylor's godson. Along with a photo of the letter from the hospital, Jaime included a touching note explaining the story behind Taylor's grand gesture. "Dear all- at 20 weeks our son was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries Aka Tga. He had a major heart surgery, that was terrifying, and traumatic for us as parents, for our family. Only a few of our best friends knew. I felt that I had to protect him in fear of the unknown, fear he would not make it. We felt isolated & confused. @taylorswift does so many selfless acts that go unnoticed because she does them silently,...
