SyFy is hosting it’s annual Ghost Hunters Halloween Live six hour ghost hunting event tonight starting at 7/6c on Syfy. This year the team will be taking on the ominous ‘Pennhurst Asylum’ along with special guest investigators including Barry Fitzgerald, Kris Williams and Joe Chin from ‘Ghost Hunters International’ and Ben Hansen, Jael De Pardo and Devin Marble from ‘Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files’. While watching, fans can get involved in the action over at SyFy.com with live streaming video, interactive maps and much more!

Syfy 2012 Winter Programming Lineup Features Return Of Hit Series Being Human, Face Off, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International And Merlin Plus Premieres Of New Series Monster Man And Lost Girl

Syfy will kick off 2012 by launching two new series, the reality show Monster Man and the supernatural drama Lost Girl – which will be paired with last year’s sensation Being Human to comprise Powerful Mondays – as well as the second season premiere of the hit Face Off along with the return of Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International and Merlin.

Season three of Ghost Hunters International premieres July 13th at 9/8c on the Syfy channel. Join Kris Williams & Barry Fitzgerald as they use their principles of scientific techniques, to explore some of the most legendary haunted spots around the world. Each week the team travels to the far corners of the globe, searching for answers to bizarre supernatural mysteries. We here at Big Daddy Horror Reviews had the chance to ask Kris Williams and Barry Fitzgerald a few questions about their own personal experiences and their own feelings about everything. Here's what Williams and Fitzgerald had to say about being a part of Ghost Hunters International.

Out of all the back stories of the various places you have investigated, which one of these stories personally resonates with you?   

Barry Fitzgerald: I think for me, Brandon, it would have to be Spike Island in Ireland. I am a big history buff in Irish affairs.

Syfy fired over the latest previews for Ghost Hunters, airing tonight. Ghost Hunters - "Grammar School Ghosts" You think your school days were scary? My elementary school, the Jt Wilson school in Big Nahant, Massachusetts back in the 70's was a red-bricked (circa 1916) spooky building that felt like it was haunted, especially when we had P.E. classes down in the basement if a blizzard was raging outside. I was convinced someone had been offed back in the pre Prohibition days and stuffed in one of the many odd rooms that had no seeming puprose. Our friends at Syfy have sent us sneak peeks at this week's episodes of Warehouse 13 and Ghost Hunters International. In the spirit of sharing, we thought we'd let you see them, too.

The episode of Warehouse 13, 'Beyond our Control,' airs Tuesday, July 20th at 9/8c. on Syfy and has the Warehouse team encountering a B-movie meltdown in the town next door. The paranormal investigators of Ghost Hunters International, meanwhile, have an appointment with 'Sweeney Todd' on Wednesday, July 21st @ 9/8c. on Syfy. These days the term 'reality show' can cover a multitude of things from the interminable clones of American Idol to glorified game shows like The Amazing Race. Wishing, perhaps, to capitalize on the popularity of the genre, Sci Fi Channel has also labeled its spooktackular paranormal investigation series Ghost Hunters reality TV. That seems ironic, given that the show may be dealing with phenomena that are unreal. Whatever the appropriate genre for Ghost Hunters, though, the show has had many viewers hiding behind the couch since it presented it first real-life ghost story back in 2004. In the great tradition of popular reality shows, it has gone on to be a franchise that now encompasses Ghost International and the upcoming Ghost Hunters: New Generation.
