Gold boots are made for running and that’s just what they’ll do in the latest look at Barry Allen’s fresh getup ahead of The Flash‘s Season 8 premiere.

On Saturday during DC’s virtual Fandome event, star Grant Gustin gave fans of the long-running CW superhero drama a glimpse at the hero’s newest accessory – the gold boots from the original DC comic books.

“[The boots are] the final element that’s been missing,” Gustin said during the fan event. “I’ve loved all the versions of The Flash suit we’ve had on the show, but the suit we have now is the closest to the many iterations you see in the comic books – with the exception of those gold boots. I’ve always felt that those boots would be the finale touch.”

The Flash’s new look, which you can view below, also touts a fresh crest and wings.

The CW has released several photos from the upcoming seventeenth episode of The Flash season 6 that tease a major discovery for Team Flash and a confrontation between Barry and Iris.

Shutdowns in Hollywood and across the television industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic meant that shows like The Flash couldn’t continue production unabated. As such, the crew announced that instead of the planned season finale, which would feature the return of Eobard Thawne in a cliffhanger ending, the current season will end on episode 19 and feature another twist.

At this point, we’re just glad to get an ending at all after this fixer-upper of a season, even if it’s a rushed and inconclusive one. With the novel coronavirus pandemic winding through the United States and several European epicenters like a hot knife through butter, there’s no telling when the studios can resume work on their ongoing projects.

We’ve been without new episodes of The Flash for about a month now, so fans are ecstatic that this coronavirus-imposed hiatus of the show is about to end next Tuesday. However, as we’re nearing the tail-end of season 6, it’s not like these upcoming episodes will be all fun and laughter for our heroes. Take this newly released synopsis for the season’s 17th installment, for instance, which offers an ominous tease for the future of Barry and Iris’ marriage.

Episode 6×17 is titled “Liberation,” which gives the impression that the real Iris will finally escape from the Mirrorverse she’s been trapped in for all of season 6B with Eva McCulloch. However, though you might expect this to be a joyous occasion, it looks like the return of actual Iris causes Barry and Iris to question their relationship.

It was early in the morning last Thursday, and Jonathan Butler was standing on the Fred Hartman Bridge, helping 11 fellow Greenpeace activists rappel down and suspend themselves over the Houston Ship Channel. The protesters dangled in the air most of the day, shutting down a part of one of the country’s largest ports for oil.

When you take into consideration how many villains The Flash has adapted from DC Comics lore during the past five seasons, it’s actually kind of difficult thinking what territory there’s left to explore. With Godspeed expected to debut soon enough, Mob Rule is really the only major box the series may have left to check off.

Then again, there’s no law stating that evildoers who’ve already appeared on the show can’t come back for more. In fact, we now have confirmation that Caitlin Snow’s father, the Icicle, will return in a matter of weeks during “Snow Pack.” Here’s the official synopsis for that one:

So far, this season of The Flash has seen Sherloque Wells prove to be a most valuable ally in the ongoing war with Cicada. Not only has his impressive intellect helped the team at Star Labs in a variety of situations, but he’s also getting to the bottom of whatever’s been going on with Nora West-Allen and Eobard Thawne.

While the latest Harrison Wells’ doppelganger we’ve met has thus far lived up to being the best detective in the multiverse, there’s one area in which he hasn’t had much luck – and that’s love. In fact, the guy has confessed to having been married seven times, two of which were to the same woman.

Well, those who’ve wanted to meet those lucky (?) ladies will soon get their chance when Kimberly Williams-Paisley debuts as Renee Adler during next week’s episode, “Goldfaced.” What’s also...

If anything could be said about the current season of The Flash, it’d certainly be that it’s a family affair. From the opening moments of last fall’s premiere, Nora West-Allen has been a constant presence on the show, causing Barry and Iris to forge a relationship with their daughter from the future without notice. And interestingly enough, they didn’t require much of a learning curve, allowing for this new dynamic to bring even more heart to a series that was chock full to begin with.

In recent weeks, however, the trio have had to deal with some grueling hardships. If you’re current on the latest happenings, then seeing Nora getting her back broken by Cicada is still fresh in your memory. And if that weren’t enough, she got lost inside the mind of the big bad’s niece, forcing her parents to go in after her earlier this week.

Now that we know Batman exists within the Arrowverse – albeit as someone who’s been missing for three years – it seems like the producers behind these shows are free to drop references to his supporting characters following the incredible “Elseworlds” crossover. In fact, The Flash‘s midseason premiere even contained a Batmobile Easter egg.

If you tuned in for last night’s episode, “Memorabilia,” then you were witness to one of the Dark Knight’s craziest foes being name-dropped. But if you didn’t, we’ll sum up the details for you right now.

Basically, when Sherloque Wells introduced the technology capable of entering somebody’s mind to Team Flash, he revealed that it also aided him in his past battle with Jervis Tetch Aka the Mad Hatter – and on Earth-221, no less. It wasn’t that long ago when speculation of a Green Lantern villain appearing in the thirteenth episode of The Flash‘s current season began swirling. Once it was announced that said adventure would be titled “Goldfaced,” it forced those familiar with more obscure DC villains to think we’d soon be introduced to a live action version of, well, Goldface.

As of right now, the jury’s still out on that one, but what we can share are a number of freshly released photos promoting that very episode. In fact, they hint at some of Central City’s greatest heroes having to make some morally questionable decisions.

Once you begin perusing the gallery below, you’ll quickly notice that, yes, Barry Allen and Ralph Dibny are going undercover in the criminal underworld in order to get their hands on a device that may aid in the battle against Cicada.

Throughout the years, the Arrowverse has flirted with Green Lantern lore, but it’s yet to formally introduce any sort of ringslinger into the fold. Seeing as how this is one of the few major boxes the DC TV shared continuity has yet to check off, one would hope that it be achieved before long. After all, the recent “Elseworlds” crossover heavily suggested that John Stewart is the Earth-90 doppelganger of John Diggle, so hopefully we can meet that fella down the line.

Until then, though, an obscure villain of Hal Jordan’s may soon make his way to The Flash – or, at least, that’s what the synopsis for “Goldfaced” is forcing people to believe. Here, take a look for yourself and then formulate your own opinion:

If you tuned in for tonight’s episode of The Flash, then you certainly got all you could’ve asked for and more. In addition to Caitlin Snow’s father showing up and establishing himself as the Arrowverse’s version of the Icicle just as we suspected he would, we also learned of her true origins as Killer Frost. And if that weren’t enough, daddy also dropped the names of two other major “cold villains” from the DC Universe, those being Louise Lincoln (another Killer Frost from the comics) and Victor Fries!

When it came to Cicada, though, the team inched ever closer to uncovering his identity. But if we have anything to learn from the first trailer promoting next week’s episode, “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” the big bad just might get to the Scarlet Speedster and his buddies first.

Even if some of the biggest mysteries confounding viewers of The Flash end up being solved within the next few weeks, there’s still much we can look forward to before the winter hiatus arrives. In fact, the network has been generous enough to release images and a synopsis relevant to the Thanksgiving episode.

Oddly enough, said offering won’t arrive until the week following Turkey Day, but we’re still going to receive a hearty helping of Team Flash enjoying each other’s company while stuffing their faces. Of course, there’ll be more to the episode than just that, though a full hour of watching them eat would be a bold move made by the producers.

Based in Burbank, the year-long program allows aspiring television writers worldwide to hone their skills writing for both live-action and animated shows, network with executives and show creators, and gain access to workshops, seminars, classes, and real-world writers’ rooms. The new preschool-focused writing path is a modified six-month program, similar to the international track introduced in 2014.

With each passing year, it seems like we’ve come to expect for Tom Cavanagh to give yet another take on Harrison Wells. After his initial attempt – the Reverse-Flash – met its (first) demise all the way back in season 1’s finale, the show’s sophomore year saw the actor stick around as Earth-2’s Harry Wells. Then, Earth-19’s H.R. Wells graced TV screens in season 3, before Harry came back for the latest run following the death of his replacement.

If you’ve been keeping up on The Flash, then you’re well aware of how Harry’s intellect began deteriorating due to over-usage of his replica Thinking Cap. Thankfully, though, Marlize DeVoe was able to somewhat reverse the effects during May’s finale, thus restoring his mental faculties but with one notable difference: Harry is no longer a genius.

After wow’ing us all with one hell of a premiere last week (you can check out our review here), you could say the sky’s the limit for what The Flash can do in its fifth season. The hit DC show may have had its highs and lows just as any series does, sure, but it truly seems as if it’s once again managed to capture lightning in a bottle.

Of course, everybody’s likely still reeling after seeing that awesome poster for the “Elseworlds” crossover, but it’s important we not lose sight of what’ll go down before then. In fact, we’re going to talk about what’s on tap for next week right now, as the video up above teases what’s to come in the ominously titled “The Death of Vibe.”

First, let’s see what the plot summary offers, shall we?

To date, The CW have done a stellar job when it comes to assembling great ensemble casts. And if you require a fine example of this, one need not look any further than The Flash. Really, after excelling at its game for four seasons, it’s probably safe to say that it’s hard to imagine the show without core actors Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin.

Well, later this month, it’s very possible that we’ll have to part ways with one stalwart favorite, that being Valdes’ Cisco Ramon. But before we speculate any further, let’s check out the synopsis for the ominously titled “The Death of Vibe”:

Cicada Targets A Member Of Team Flash — After Cicada’s (Chris Klein) attack on The Flash (Grant Gustin), the team realizes they need to think outside the box to stop this dangerous new foe.

To me, there’s just something wrong about whenever a villain violates the sanctity of a superhero’s home base. Really, whenever Ra’s al Ghul or the Joker have crashed the Batcave, or when Lex Luthor set foot in the Fortress of Solitude, it just seemed like such a perversion that’d cause excitement knowing the story would be taken to unexpected places.

In the case of The Flash, it’s already happened with the series’ previous big bads – the Reverse-Flash, Zoom and Savitar – in addition to several other foes of lesser importance, but it feels no less shocking to see Clifford DeVoe Aka the Thinker showing up uninvited at Star Labs.

We already knew that Team Flash will be taking the fight to him next week, but one of the images included in the gallery below shows DeVoe’s latest vessel poking around what we normally think of as being a safe zone.

Say what you want about the idea of Iris West temporarily becoming a speedster, but I personally felt that the most recent episode to have aired ended up being one of season 4’s better outings. Not only that, but Harry Wells seemingly turned the tide in the war against the Thinker by crafting a “thinking cap” of his own.

But no matter if you have gripes or praise to voice, I think we can all lament the hiatus The Flash is currently enduring. Actually, this has been something we’ve unfortunately had to get used to this season when it comes to a variety of CW series. But, on the plus side, it’ll soon be over.

Speaking of which, expect the ongoing feud with Clifford DeVoe to heat up not long after the saga resumes, as the official synopsis for “Lose Yourself” has this to offer:

Ralph Considers Crossing...

Much like the currently incarcerated Barry Allen, I’m trying to retain my sense of optimism. Really, after The Flash seemingly got back on track after starting off its fourth season with a handful of farcical episodes, Clifford DeVoe decides to take a vacation for a few weeks and our titular hero remains behind bars with no immediate light at the end of the tunnel. I’m being 100% serious when I say that the writing this year makes Arrow season 4 look as good as iZombie season 3 by comparison.

Still, some hope remains because a fresh batch of images released ahead of next week’s episode, “True Colors,” show Barry possibly being free of Iron Heights very shortly. Yes, escaping with various other metahumans being sold to Katee Sackhoff’s Amunet may make him a fugitive, but at least it’d make the show feel exciting again.

Speaking of which, it...

I think it’s safe to say that the midseason premiere of The Flash caught many of us Arrowverse fans off-guard. Sure, Barry Allen being on trial for the “murder” of Clifford DeVoe was enough of a shock in itself, but who among you actually expected him to be convicted?

Well, from the sound of it, seeing the Scarlet Speedster behind bars is something we’re going to have to get used to for the foreseeable future. Fortunately for the citizens of Central City, Ralph Dibny is expected to step up in a big way, but it’s kind of funny that Wally West hopped on over to Legends of Tomorrow at the most inopportune time. Really, Team Flash could use someone with his talents right about now.

Still, there’s much to look forward to on the horizon as geek royalty Katee Sackhoff will soon make her return to the series.

The Flash this Tuesday (The CW, 8/7c) turns in one of its funniest episodes, certainly in a long while. But it has even more going for it than that. Here’s a non-spoilery overview of “Mixed Signals,” which was written by Jonathan Butler and Gabriel Garza and directed by Alexandra La Roche (“The Wrath of Savitar”):

It’s all going to change for Barry Allen on The Flash season 4. After his spell in the Speed Force over the summer, the Scarlet Speedster will return to Central City a new man. In light of criticisms over the treatment of his character in the last run, the writers have taken on board what the fans had to say and have brought Grant Gustin’s portrayal more in line with the comic book hero. At least, that’s what we’ve been promised ahead of the season premiere next week.

Another thing that will be different this year is the Flash’s costume. In place of the more maroon version Barry’s been wearing for the past few seasons, his new duds are a much brighter shade of red with some fancy gold detailing. Think back to when you were in high school. Do you remember that whenever you’d return from spring break or summer vacation there were always a fair amount of people rocking new hairstyles and whatnot? Or, if you’re a pro wrestler who wants their comeback to be more impactful after sitting on the sidelines for six months or more, you might upgrade your threads. Likewise, The Flash will seemingly employ that very same logic upon his liberation from the Speed Force.

Actually, we have seen Barry Allen’s new costume before, but with a bit of a twist. You see, when he traveled to 2024 last season in “The Once and Future Flash,” he met his future self who happened to be wearing the very same suit we’re discussing today.

The game is over. The Bella and the Bulldogs TV show has been cancelled by Nickelodeon, after two seasons. Star Brec Bassinger confirmed the show is over, on Twitter, posting, "I hope y'all enjoyed the last episode of #bellaandthebulldogs. It will forever have a piece of my heart."

The sitcom, created by Jonathan Butler and Gabriel Garza, features a cheerleader, Bella Dawson (Bassinger) who becomes the quarterback of her school's football team. The Bella and the Bulldogs TV series cast also includes Coy Stewart, Jackie Radinsky, Buddy Handleson, Lilimar, and Haley Tju.

Ed Sheeran and Bill Withers joined Stephen Colbert on The Late Show to promote an upcoming Carnegie Hall tribute and charity concert in Withers' honor that will benefit the Stuttering Association for the Young — something both musicians suffered from as children.

Sheeran did most of the talking, admitting he still stutters occasionally and noting the impediment arose after doctors forgot to apply an anesthetic while removing a birthmark around his eye. On top of that, Sheeran said he used to wear massive National Health Service-issued eyeglasses and has no eardrum in one ear.

Nominations for the 46th NAACP Image Awards have been revealed and "Belle," "Beyond the Lights," "Dear White People," "Get On Up," and "Selma" are duking it out for the Outstanding Motion Picture Award.

Winners will be announced on Friday, February 6, 2015 in a two-hour televised event on TV One.

The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.

Gearing up for another year of excitement, the 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards just unveiled the first round of hopefuls and there are plenty of worthy contenders.

In the television categories, Shonda Rhimes’ series “Scandal” and “How to Get Away With Murder” are among the most nominated, though “Black-ish” is also up there. Meanwhile, “Selma” and “Get on Up” are the top two movies on the docket, ahead of the big event on Friday, February 6th, 2015. Per the official website, “The NAACP Image Awards honors the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and honors those who promote social justice through creative endeavors.”

Nickelodeon has given a 20-episode order to Henry Danger, a new crime-fighting comedy from the network’s top creator Dan Schneider who is behind eight Nick live-action series from the past two decades, Sam & Cat, Victorious, iCarly, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show, Kenan & Kel and All That. Additionally, at its upfront today Nick is announcing the pickup of two other new live-action comedy series. High school/cheerleading sitcom Bella And The Bullfrogs, which has a 12-episode order, was written by Gabriel Garza and Jonathan Butler (The Haunted Hathaways).
