Image
A24 is back on the big screen with a brand new nightmare this weekend, and that film from the directors of Talk to Me is joined by four fresh new horrors that are now available at home.

Here’s all the new horror that released from May 26 – May 30, 2025!

For daily reminders about new horror releases, be sure to follow @HorrorCalendar.

The indie horror-thriller was released onto VOD outlets this past Tuesday.

In the film, “After a botched job leaves a trail of bodies behind, a gang of desperate criminals seeks refuge in a remote desert hideout. But their plans fall apart fast when they discover the area is home to something far worse than the law — an...

Peculiar Masked Killer Slasher Throwback 'Pretty Boy' Official Trailer
Image
"Ohhh how he loved his dolls..." Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for this indie horror film called Pretty Boy, made by LA-based genre filmmaker Marcel Walz as one of his latest horror features. This is finally getting a VOD release in May this year four years after it first debuted. Pretty Boy premiered at both FrightFest and the Popcorn Frights Film Festival back in 2021. Suffering from blindness after a botched laser surgery, Hollywood actress Faye is abducted from her hillside estate by a masked lunatic named Pretty Boy. This masked killer takes Faye from her home up in the Hollywood hills and crashes a Valentine's Day party where the bloodshed continues. The indie horror film Sarah French as Faye, with Heather Grace Hancock, Devanny Pinn, Jake Red, Andrew Rohrbach, Sarah Nicklin, Fritzi Marth, Jed Rowen. This looks mostly mediocre & derivative - I guess there's a reason this took four years to finally get released.

Back at the end of 2023, we heard that the creative team behind the stalker thriller Blind, its still-unreleased sequel Pretty Boy, the slasher That’s a Wrap, and the upcoming horror film Garden of Eden, had wrapped production on Brute 1976, a horror project described as an homage to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. With the project heading into post-production, the first batch of images have been revealed, along with the news that Tokio Hotel lead singer Bill Kaulitz makes his film debut in the slasher movie.

Tokio Hotel Singer Bill Kaulitz Lands Film Debut In Marcel Walz’s Indie Horror ‘Brute 1986’
Image
Exclusive: Bill Kaulitz has swapped the concert stage for the big screen by landing his first film role.

The Tokio Hotel frontman, whose band is among Germany’s most successful music acts, has landed a role in Brute 1986, an indie pic inspired by 1980s slasher movies.

In the film, Leather Kobra, a Sunset Strip-style glam metal band films a music video in an abandoned Western town in the middle of nowhere. Ignoring ‘no trespassing’ signs, the rebellious group have no idea they are being watched by the Birdy family, who will meet them with a “level of brutality that is as vicious as it is creative,” according to producers.

Starring alongside Kaulitz are Gigi Gustin (Stiletto), Sarah French (Blind), Pancho Moler (3 From Hell), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Heather Grace Hancock (Wicked City) and Dazelle Yvette (Garden of Eden).

Joe Knetter (Twilight of the Dead) is the writer, with...

Pretty Boy Trailer: "The genre specialized company Black Mandala presents the horror movie Pretty Boy, directed by Marcel Walz. According to its director: “Is heavily ‘80s-inspired and a love letter to all our favorite slasher franchises we all grew up with!”. The film had its world premiere on Friday, August 13 at the Popcorn Frights Film Festival in South Florida; and the same month it had its European premiere at the prestigious FrightFest (UK).

A notable killer is born into the world of horror: Pretty Boy, first appearing in the critically acclaimed thriller Blind. Now the murderess in the mask returns for Valentine’s Day in a heartbreaking sequel, where he spills gallons of blood among roses and glitter. The feature stars Sarah French, Heather Grace Hancock, Devanny Pinn, Robert Rusler, Maria Olsen, Jake Red, Andrew Rohrbach, and also Jed Rowen (returning as “Pretty Boy”).

Frightfest 2021: ‘Pretty Boy’ Review
Image
Stars: Sarah French, Jed Rowen, Devanny Pinn, Jake Red, Heather Grace Hancock, Maria Olsen, Robert Rusler | Written by Joe Knetter | Directed by Marcel Walz

I’m going to be totally honest here and state that I did not see Marcel Walz’s Blind, of which this film – Pretty Boy – is a direct sequel. A direct sequel in early Friday the 13th style, where this film literally continues exactly after the events of the first movie (which are recapped somewhat in the opening titles) and continue what, I have no doubt, will be an extended series of films featuring our creepy masked-faced killer.

Er, “mask faced killer”, does that sound Just like the Friday the 13th franchise to you? I jest but it seems, given how much this film focuses on blood, guts and gore – much mores than the first (apparently) – that Walz’s is very much following that series footsteps...

New Pretty Boy Poster and Photos: "Pretty Boy, the follow up to the award-winning film Blind, has completed principal photography. Pretty Boy, directed by Marcel Walz and written by Joe Knetter, continues the story they set in motion in Blind.

Pretty Boy just finished the Post Production with Company 3

Marcel Walz (Director)

“Filming Pretty Boy the way we did was a dream comes true for me. It is beautiful, fun, gory and creepy. Seeing our Killer, “Pretty Boy”, slashing through this love letter to the 80s is what I have always wanted to do! Also, as an LGBTQ Director, I could go crazy on set design for the Valentine’s party and overall theme in the movie, so be prepared for a lot of pinks, glitter and some intestines Lol!“

Joe Knetter (Writer)

“Filming Pretty Boy was an amazing experience. Every single person on the cast and crew brought their ‘A’ game.

‘Pretty Boy': Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Some Sick Images From Upcoming ‘Blind’ Sequel (Photos)
Blind (2014)
One of more entertaining bits of indie horror from the last few years is “Blind,” a gloriously melodramatic suspense thriller that veers into slasher from director Marcel Walz and writer Joe Knetter, that slipped in amid all the chaos of the last half of 2020.

“Blind” focused on an actress (Sarah French) putting her life back together after being blinded in a botched laser eye surgery, but the hook was sex obsessed killer wearing a very Ken doll-esque mask called “Pretty Boy” (Jed Rowen). Filming just wrapped on the sequel, the eponymously titled “Pretty Boy,” and in advance of the first trailer you can enjoy some extremely cool first look images below.

First up is the poster which, yeah inject it into our veins please.

Due for release later this year, “Pretty Boy” sees the return of Sarah French with Rowen as the title character. It also stars Heather Grace Hancock...
