A fantasy series, with 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, is getting a new streaming home after leaving Netflix. Although it has managed to successfully launch several genres, particularly old-school thrillers like The Night Agent and supernatural teen fare such as Stranger Things and Wednesday, there's an argument to be made that the most global streaming platform has struggled to find a fantasy tentpole on the level of HBO's House of the Dragon or Prime Video's Wheel of Time.

The Witcher has had notable success, although not without its share of turmoil. Series lead Henry Cavill has exited the project, with his role as Geralt of Rivia to be played by Liam Hemsworth in The Witcher season 4. It also hasn't been a franchise starter, with spinoffs failing to gain much traction so far. Shadow and Bone has faired even worse, getting cancelled much to the frustration of its audience. I did wonder how well Good Omens would translate from book to screen. Well, it worked, and now we’re ready to see how it all comes to an end. Well, sort of. We’re not “ready” ready, but it does need an ending.

This is one of those series that can’t be duplicated. There isn’t anything else out there that matches the energy, but there are a fair few shows that come somewhat close. It all depends on the elements you want to gain from Good Omens in other works.

Chonburi (Thailand), Oct 28 (Ians) Three of the seven Indians made the cut at the 13th Asian Pacific Amateur Championship with Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa, Shaurya Bhattacharya and Aryan Roopa Anand making the cut at the halfway stage of the region’s biggest amateur event, from where the winner gets a berth into the 2023 Masters and the 2023 Open.

Nikhil Chopra, former India cricketer, and now a regular commentator on television would normally have been in Australia for the T20 World Cup of Cricket, but he chose to skip a week of cricket duty to be his son, Krishnav’s caddie this week at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in Thailand.

He shot 4-over on the first day but fought back over the next three days to get within a whisker of the title that would have given him a tee time at the 2019 Masters. He ended Tied-second alongside Keita Nakajima, who went on become World No. 1 amateur, and behind winner Takumi Kanaya, who is now making waves on the pro Tour.

This will be Thomas’ fifth appearance at the Aac, where his best is second place and he has made the cut each time.

As a clearer picture starts to form of Fillory’s plight and how the Dark King’s obsession ties into it, The Magicians takes on a sense of urgency appropriate for both the end of the season and the series. Bringing in the mourning of a god also related nicely to the themes that season 5 has been exploring all along with the death of Quentin. In fact, “Purgatory” felt like a series of stories of people trapped in limbo, whether it was Penny and Plum in their room out of time, Josh in the Underworld, or Julia and Eliot in prison. It’s exactly that kind of narrative unity that has been the hallmark of this great series, and it’s nice to see this close to the finale.

With a major character exiting, a false ending was filmed for The Magicians season 4 finale, keeping the truth even from the cast.

Fans of The Magicians are having mixed feelings after the tragic sacrifices made in the season 4 finale, and it’s not all about a major character having died. After all, Penny and Marina died in season 3, and the nature of the series allowed copies from another timeline to rejoin the cast with different personas. Quentin’s heroic demise, however, was made much more final by the announcement that Jason Ralph has decided to move on from the series, but the secondary shock comes from finding out that his departure was kept secret even from fellow cast members.

Okay, let's just lay this out there right now. The Magicians Season 4 Episode 7 is the episode that I never knew that I needed. 

I have always considered The Magicians an ensemble show, but "The Side Effect" takes those characters that don't get a lot of play and puts them front and center. 

The set-up is quite perfect. Reconnecting with Underworld Penny right now feels perfect after seeing The Magicians Season 4 Episode 6. After giving Penny-23 the okay to live in his timeline, it's hard to imagine what Penny would be doing, especially since he seemed so determined to find a way out last season. 

Seeing him in a role that he's enjoying and in which he's thriving feels like a great nod to this version of a character in which we are so invested. Arjun Gupta delivers all of his monologues seamlessly and without being preachy. It's clear that Penny has an agenda,...

Syfy’s adaptation of Lev Grossman’s “The Magicians” fantasy novels finally goes off-book for a wholly original story in its fourth season, and the result is just as spellbinding as ever. That’s not entirely surprising since co-showrunners Sera Gamble and John McNamara had already demonstrated their ability to play fast and loose with the source material, yet stay true to its magical spirit. Despite exhausting all of Grossman’s major plots, the new adventure continues the show’s inspired storytelling, which is both a vindication and relief for longtime fans.

Syfy has renewed “The Magicians” for a fifth season just ahead of the fourth season premiere. The show has also promoted Henry Alonso Myers to co-showrunner for the fifth season.

“‘The Magicians’ raised the bar at Syfy and has gained momentum season after season, attracting a new audience to the channel. We caught up with Arjun Gupta and Stella Maeve to chat about their character arcs in The Magicians season 4.

There’s no show on TV that knows how to hit a reset button quite like Syfy's The Magicians. The season 3 finale left so many intriguing loose threads that it would take a full costume department working overtime just to tie everything up. Luckily, The Magicians Season 4 starts to answer questions like what’s going on with the authoritarian rule of The Library, and how Quentin will handle his complicated relationship with both magic and Fillory.

It’s not just Quentin who finds himself in a drastically different place to begin the season. The whole gang had their memories wiped in the season 3 finale and were placed back into the world in new, magic-less lives. At this point, Arjun Gupta is used to playing all different variations of Penny.

SyFy’s The Magicians has conjured its official season four trailer, showcasing the core group’s struggle to remember their identities and rediscover each other. The new episodes start on Jan. 23 at 9 Pm Et/8 Central.

Last season, the core group embarked on the epic quest of the seven keys to restore magic after it was turned off. In the finale, just as our magicians finally restored magic by unlocking the fountain at the other end of the Wellspring, the Library, Irene McAllistair and Dean Fogg swooped in to reroute magic to them.

In exchange, Dean Fogg negotiated the lives of his students, erasing their memories and giving each – except Alice who is now imprisoned by the Library – a new, magic-free identity. Even with their new identities, our core group is far from safe. Inside Castle Blackspire an ancient, powerful and unkillable Monster escaped confinement and jumped bodies to a new host, Eliot.

In today’s TV News Roundup, Showtime released the premiere date and a new trailer for the second season of “Smilf” and Syfy unveiled a new trailer for season four of “The Magicians.”

“Young Justice” is coming to the DC Universe streaming platform for a third season on Jan. 4, nearly five years after the show’s conclusion in 2013. “Young Justice: Outsiders” will feature popular heroes Static, Kid Flash, Robin, Wonder Girl, Spoiler, Blue Beetle, Thirteen, Arrowette, Arsenal and Beast Boy as well as newcomers Forager, voiced by Jason Spisak and Halo, voiced by Zehra Fazal. While the season-long quest for all of the Seven Keys is technically over, the ordeal for Brakebill’s erstwhile students is not. In the Season 3 finale of “The Magicians,” Quentin (Jason Ralph) and his friends were just about to succeed in restoring magic to the world when the faction representing the Librarian (Mageina Tovah) activated the fairy-powered Syphon device and diverted the magic to the Neitherworld Library.

Now, instead of having free-flowing magic, it’s so closely rationed that Brakebills instructors can barely perform simple demonstrations. Dean Fogg (Rick Worthy), who had betrayed Quentin & Co. to help the Librarians, is similarly frustrated with his limited access to magic. On The Magicians Season 3 Episode 11, Josh and Julia take a trip to an alternate reality and give the series one of its wildest and most engaging episodes this season.

Taking quite a leap from the end of the last episode, we are taken on yet another key quest that plays to the splintering of time and dimension.

Leading with the newly formed understanding between the Fairy Queen and Julia, the ousted royalty of Fillory puts addressing Tick’s bounty of their heads on hold to figure out how the fairies’ ruler may be able to help them bring magic back.

That results in an unlikely team-up, guided by Julia and Josh. It’s rounded out by appearances from a sweet, endearing alternate reality Alice, the smooth and charming as hell Au Penny, both our Josh and a more (and less) cool alternate Josh, as well as the unexpected return of hedgewitch Marina.
