Ke Huy Quan wants to play a villain in a James Bond movie. The Oscar-winning actor has admitted he is hoping to play a "bad guy" in future and his dream role would pitch him as a "diabolical" nemesis for a new incarnation of superspy 007.The 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' star told Empire magazine: "I would love to play a bad guy. Like a Bond villain. Or the kind of thing Hugh Grant does in 'Heretic'. I want to go out of my comfort zone and just play this diabolical, really bad guy. While its always great for audiences to show their support for the hard work the production crew and stars put into a movie, some post-credits scenes truly were not worth the wait. To make a feature film is a major endeavor, so its important to give the crew their due and stick around for the credits, but if the only reason a viewer was watching them was to see the final scene or catch a hidden Easter egg, plenty of films would leave them disappointed. As post-credits scenes have become more common in recent years, in some cases, they feel needlessly tacked on and without much depth or interest.
The best post-credits scenes offer something new and exciting for viewers to look forward to. This could be the introduction of a long-awaited character, a new plot point that lays the groundwork for a sequel, or even just one final gag...

A Black Adam vs. Superman concept trailer brings the iconic DC titans together in an epic cinematic crossover after the Black Adam post-credits scene tease. It has been nearly two years since Dwayne Johnson joined the Dceu movie timeline as Black Adam, best known as Shazam's greatest enemy. One of the biggest unfinished plot points that was introduced in the post-credits scene of Black Adam was Johnson's titular anti-hero coming face-to-face with Henry Cavill's iteration of Superman.
While there were plans to have Superman and Black Adam fight down the line, the concept was quickly scrapped as Warner Bros. Discovery decided to reboot their DC brand on TV and in film. However, in a proof-of-concept trailer from Screen Culture, Cavill and Johnson's DC characters finally face each other.

Dwayne Johnson starred in 2022’s Black Adam; a Dceu superhero movie based on the DC character of the same name. It was the eleventh movie in the Dceu and reportedly a spin-off to 2019’s Shazam! Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani, Black Adam was one of the highly anticipated movies of 2022.
Upon its release, the movie received negative reviews from the critics and the audience becoming a box office bomb for the studios. However, one significant appearance from a former Dceu cast member had the audience excited about the movie and had them looking forward to its further development before the sequel was canceled. Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia touched upon how the movie was not a standalone project but more than that.

It’s been a hot minute since we heard an update about an upcoming remake of The Saint starring Regé-Jean Page. Still, Deadline is here to blow the dust off this project with word that Doug Liman is officially directing The Saint remake. In addition to his starring role, Page will executive produce with Lorenzo Dibonaventura, Brad Krevoy, and the late Robert Evans.
Plot details for The Saint remake remain a mystery. However, Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani are working on the script. The Saint is based on the 1920s book series that follows Simon Templar, also known as The Saint. Often described as a Robin Hood-like criminal and thief for hire, Simon can usually be found traveling the globe and looking for adventure. As I said, plot details on the new project are confidential at this time, though sources indicate that the team is working around the clock to reimagine the character.

Doug Liman is set to direct and oversee development on Paramount Pictures’ reboot of The Saint.
Regé-Jean Page, a breakout actor from Netflix’s Bridgerton, was earlier tapped to star in and executive produce the studio’s imagining of the movie based on the early 20th century adventure novels by Leslie Charteris that featured a mysterious man named Simon Templar taking down various bad guys.
Val Kilmer starred in Paramount’s 1997 original film The Saint as a master of disguise. The character has proven quite popular, appearing in comics, serials and, of course, movies and television. Roger Moore famously starred in the 1960s British TV series of the same name.

Paramount has signed “The Bourne Identity” filmmaker Doug Liman to direct the upcoming crime thriller “The Saint,” which will star Regé-Jean Page in a new imagining of the 1920s book series created by Leslie Charteris.
“The Saint” takes its name from the nickname of its protagonist, Simon Templar, a thief for hire who travels around the world serving as a modern day Robin Hood, stealing from the rich and protecting the powerless.
Charteris’ novels were adapted into a hit British 1960s TV series that became Roger Moore’s biggest claim to fame before he became James Bond. Paramount also adapted the books into a 1997 film starring Val Kilmer.
Page will also serve as an executive producer on the film, with Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Brad Kervoy. The late Paramount Pictures chief Robert Evans, who died in 2019, is also listed as a posthumous producer. “Black Adam” screenwriters Rory Haines and Sohrab...

Dwayne Johnson's long-awaited take on "Black Adam" had a very bumpy road to the big screen, but it has finally arrived. Helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the latest from DC is an action-packed introduction to the protector of Kahndaq, a man who lived thousands of years locked away after being granted the almighty power of the gods. A passion project for Johnson, the film came to be after 14 years of planning, starting, stopping, and throwing ideas at the wall. Between that and the loaded comic book history of the character, it was no simple task for scribes Adan Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani to whittle those ideas down to a single script. Nor was it easy for editors, Mike Sale and John Lee to turn hours of footage into 125 minutes worth of movie.

Major spoilers for Black Adam. Consider yourself warned. After nearly two decades of waiting, Dwayne Johnson’s superhero epic Black Adam has finally arrived. As is customary with comic-book movies, Black Adam contains plenty of references and cameos from the larger DC Universe, but one major cameo has pretty much been common knowledge for some time, which producer Hiram Garcia calls “frustrating.“

The Black Adam cameo we’re referring to is the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, something fans have been begging for. To be fair, Dwayne Johnson hasn’t exactly been great at keeping the cameo a secret on the road to the movie’s release, not so subtly referring to Henry Cavill’s return in many interviews, but Hiram Garcia told /Film that it was frustrating that so many fans had the reveal spoiled for them ahead of time.

Now that Dwayne Johnson's DC debut is playing in theaters, Black Adam many reactions are roasting the movie's apparent bad writing. The DC Extended Universe film primarily provides an origin story for the titular antihero, once a slave from Khandaq who was granted powers by the ancient wizard Shazam and imprisoned thousands of years for abusing those powers. Once Black Adam is released into the modern world, his barbaric behavior quickly catches the attention of the Justice Society of America who attempt to reform him. Black Adam was directed by Jungle Cruise's Jaume Collett-Serra and written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani.

Dwayne Johnson‘s long-gestating passion project, Black Adam, is in theaters now, and people are already lining up to weigh in on the latest superhero event for the Dceu. Jaume Collet-Serra directs from a script by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani. Johnson’s channeled all his mana into promoting Black Adam, saying the antihero character would change the “change the hierarcy” of superhero cinema. I’ve seen a handful of critics disagree with Johnson’s statement, but general audiences seem to be responding positively to the film.

However, the Justice Society of America is there to keep him in check and possibly sway his outlook on who deserves punishment.

Johnson stars as “Black Adam,” a demigod from a mythical middle eastern country who was given power from a counsel of wizards to protect his homeland from injustice. Dwayne Johnson stars as DC’s anti-hero Black Adam in this de facto spin-off from 2019’s Shazam. Indeed, the character was originally intended to be the antagonist in the Shazam movie, until producers decided he merited his own franchise. On the strength of the new movie, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, that was probably the right call.
Unusually for a DC superhero movie, Black Adam is set entirely in the fictional Middle Eastern city of Kahndaq, which has been enriched by the discovery of a powerful element called Eternium (similarities to Black Panther’s Vibranium are presumably coincidental). When Kahndaq freedom fighter-slash-archaeologist Adrianna (Sarah Shahi) unearths a mystical crown, she unwittingly releases Teth-Adam (Johnson), an all-powerful super-being who soon unleashes his destructive force on Intergang,...

The hierarchy of power in the DC universe is about to change, or so says The Rock. That's because "Black Adam" is finally hitting theaters after being stuck in development for years (and years). Dwayne Johnson has been attached to the role for a very long time, but through persistence and a lot of shifts behind the scenes at DC Films, this one finally came to fruition, with director Jaume Collet-Serra ("Jungle Cruise") behind the camera. But now for the ever-important question: do moviegoers have to sit through the credits?
Well, dear reader, we are here to answer that question and let you know in spoiler-free fashion whether or not the movie has a post-credits scene, or scenes, of any kind. That way, you can plan those bathroom breaks accordingly. Again, we will not spoil anything here so read on with ease. Let's get into it.

The question that “Black Adam” poses is a simple one: What happens when Hollywood’s most risk-averse movie star collides with Hollywood’s most risk-averse movie genre? The answer provided by complex is, of course, even simpler: Exactly what you’d expect. Only worse.
All due respect to whatever unique and illustrious history Black Adam may have developed since his DC Comics debut in 1945, but the lifeless spectacle that director Jaume Collet-Serra — who made some nifty thrillers before “Jungle Cruise” reduced him to the John Ford of Rawson Marshall Thurbers — has cobbled together for the character’s big screen origin story is so exhaustingly derivative of other superhero movies that the ancient Egyptian antihero might as well not have any history at all.
The problems stem from an irreconcilable mismatch between star and subject. Part of the issue is that playing the Scorpion King does not, in fact, make someone...

Warner Bros.' DC Extended Universe has seen some drastic changes in recent years, from release date adjustments to creative shifts, not to mention the surprise shelving of Batgirl. If there is one thing that has remained consistent, though, it is Dwayne Johnson's insistence that his long-awaited franchise debut, Black Adam, will change the hierarchy of the fictional universe forever. The long-term effects of this movie have yet to be revealed, but as an introduction to one of DC's biggest anti-heroes, it gets the job done. Devoted fans of the Dceu will find much to enjoy here, while those more worn out by superhero antics might not be won over by Black Adam's action-packed nature. Though suffering from repetitive plot beats and thin characters, Black Adam is powered by Johnson's performance and its promise of an exciting future.

It’s been a long wait — nearly a decade, in fact — since Dwayne Johnson first signed on to become an integral part of the DC universe. He’s recently turned 50 (not that he looks it). But now, at last, he’s launched a big-league entry in the cinematic superpowers world with Black Adam.
This is a gigantic, 200 million sci-fi extravaganza that likely features a higher percentage of screen time devoted strictly to massive action and effects over dialogue than any of its comics-derived predecessors. Given the quality of the dialogue here, this is all to the good, but it certainly won’t deter the devoted fanboys who have been waiting a long time for this one. The large intended audience will no doubt gobble up this extravagantly boisterous other-worldly space circus, which certainly deserves to be seen on the big screen. There it will play for 45 days before beginning to stream on HBO Max.

Spoiler Alert: The following review contains mild spoilers for “Black Adam.”
It’s kind of a cheat, casting someone as massive as Dwayne Johnson to play a DC superhero — or antihero, in the case of “Black Adam,” an action-packed, adolescent-skewing stand-alone that presents the swole Samoan star as a nearly invincible global threat. Black Adam is basically an A-bomb in human form, whose emergence from a 5,000-year lockdown calls for emergency intervention by the Justice Society of America, or Jsa, which dispatches four glorified benchwarmers to contain the situation: Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Cyclone and Doctor Fate.
Ex-wrestler The Rock is built on an altogether different scale from everyone else in the DC universe (the next-closest hulk would be “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa), suggesting by body type alone that he could beat anyone “from this planet.” Wink wink. Was it an accident or shrewd marketing strategy that leaked an end-credits scene...

Although we’ve been seeing more R-rated comicbook movies in recent years, it’s definitely not the norm for mainstream Marvel or DC fare. Keeping bloodshed and deaths to a minimum fits with the superhero code, but it doesn’t exactly suit a character like Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson). While chatting with Collider, Black Adam producers Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia said that the film actually landed an R-rating when it went before the MPA.

Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that he “absolutely” intends to make a Black Adam-Superman crossover film – going so far as to say that this prospect was “the whole point” of making his forthcoming DC antihero standalone pic.
Johnson’s comments came in a recent interview with CinemaBlend, in which he reiterated that “a new era in the DC Universe” is about to kick off. “What I meant by that was introducing a brand new character. It’s not a sequel, not an existing IP. It was…you know, Black Adam!” he said. “Two years ago the world had no idea who he was. We did, but not, you know, the rest of the mass out there. WaterTower Music has released the first music to be heard from the upcoming New Line Cinema action adventure “Black Adam,” starring Dwayne Johnson. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the uncompromising DC antihero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). The Black Adam Theme (from “Black Adam”) by highly respected Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated composer Lorne Balfe has just been released – in advance of the film and soundtrack release. “Black Adam” smashes into theaters and IMAX internationally beginning 19 October 2022, and in North America on October 21, 2022.
Balfe’s vision for the music of Black Adam encompasses an exploration into the back stories that define the characters. The composer commented on that approach. “It was exciting to get into the Black Adam theme, and I really wanted to capture his essence as the DC comic book world’s anti-hero. We had a large...

After years spent in development hell, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam will finally be hitting theaters next month. Johnson has frequently said that the movie will change the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe as it starts a whole new era, but it won’t be long until we find out for ourselves. New Line Cinema has released a new Black Adam poster which finds Black Adam seated upon a throne.
The Black Adam poster proclaims that the time for heroes is over, but I’ll be curious to see just how dark they’ll take the character without making him a straight-up villain. The movie has certainly been a long time coming, and at one point, the character was supposed to appear in the Shazam! movie before Dwayne Johnson decided the two needed their own separate movies.

Dwayne Johnson's "Black Adam" is about to shake up the DC Extended Universe. Based on the character created by Otto Binder and C.C. Beck, Adam is an agent of extreme chaos. In the comic books, he is typically the archenemy of Shazam. In Jaume Collett-Serra's film, he will be portrayed as an antihero, one who has the potential to be a powerful ally of the Justice Society of America or one of its most dreaded foes.
As written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, the movie will introduce both Adam and the Jsa into the Dceu. Given that the beleaguered brand is attempting to right itself after years of aimless development, it's vitally important that "Black Adam" palpably connects with mainstream audiences. It won't be easy. There's a ton of backstory to cover in this film, which, if not cleanly conveyed, could prove to be a major...

Johnson tackled an age-old question: who would win in a fight, Black Adam or Superman? Earlier in the week, rumors circulated that Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill might show up or send a video message for the panel, but that didn’t come to fruition.
Said the actor of a matchup between the DC characters: “Pound for pound, they are pretty close. I guess it probably all depends on who is playing Superman.

DC Comics fans are getting a closer look at Dwayne Johnson’s “Black Adam” in a new, action-packed trailer.
