Melanie Byron is an American actress, singer/songwriter and television
host, who has had success in both the American and Latin American
markets.
Melanie began her studies at UCF, majoring in theater. During that
time, she was given the opportunity to attend Sagrado Corazon
University in Puerto Rico. This was followed by a two year move to
London, England, where she attended both The Royal Academy of
Dramatic Art (RADA), and The Central School of Speech and Drama
focusing on Shakespearean theater courses. Shortly after, Melanie
moved to NYC and became a member of the Puerto Rican Traveling
Theater Company. She also was an intern and attended workshops at
The Actor's Studio (NYC). While in NYC, Melanie studied soap opera
technique with Phoebe Rosenberg Jones, acting for film with John
Gallagher, commercial, soap opera work shops, and dance at The
Broadway Dance Center. She also studied different theater techniques
with Ron Milkie.
Melanie's big break came when she was cast as the host for a live two
hour TV show, "The Roof", which aired on Mun2. She later moved on to
host "Da' Klick" which aired on Galavisión and "Flow Zone" which aired
on CTV. Besides her hosting, Melanie also got to apply her production
skills by writing and producing her own, on location, segments. Around
this time, Melanie also hosted various live concerts and both The
Billboard Bash and The Latin Billboard Bash back to back. Venturing
into the editorial world, she later became the editor in chief of The
Source Latino Magazine and wrote her own column in The Source
Magazine, "Island Hoppin'".
Ms. Byron has a successful YouTube variety channel called Booduluv
TV. She is also a recording artist/singer-songwriter and is a member of
Luna Dorma, a duo founded by Melanie Byron and opera/pop singer
Mark Antonio de Villiers. Luna Dorma is a fusion of pop and latin pop
with classical and R&B / soulful nuances.
