Paul Andrew Magbanua Bacera was born in the US Territory of Guam to a Filipino Family. His mother, Beverly Basa Magbanua is a registered Civil Engineer in the Philippines who decided to be a full time home maker after getting married. His father, Jess Gales Bacera is a Mechanical Engineer, who got involved in plant design and later managed Civil Construction projects and Facilities Management. Paul is the fourth son of six children. Paul attended elementary school at Yigo Elementary school. He then later attended middle school and high school at St. John's college preparatory school in Tumon Bay, Guam. His family moved to California when he was 15 and graduated high school at Simi Valley High School in Simi Valley.
His interest in acting started at an early age with school musical renditions of "Crazy for You", "Fame", and Mr Croaker in "Back to the 80's." At 18 years old, While studying Film, Television, and Media at Moorpark college, he shot short films using Mini DV tape camcorders. It was here where we first gained experience with filmmaking. He and fellow filmmaker Taylor Johnson participated in the Oxnard Student Digi Film Festival 2010 where they garnered 2nd place in the PSA/ Commercial Category with their film "Binaca." "The Swim", a short film co-written and co-produced by Bacera, was selected as a top 10 finalist at the 2009 AMC Your Greatest Fear video contest.
During his time at Moorpark college he studied Acting for Film and TV under John Loprieno.
When Paul was 29, he gained starring roles in the feature films "A Seat for Everyone", "What I Should Have Said", and the short films "This is Where We Get Off" (2022), and "Past the Past" (2023). In 2022, Bacera signed with Talent Management Group (TMG), a talent agency in Utah. As of 2021, Bacera studies acting with Rob Diamond in Sandy, Utah.
In 2022, Bacera produced and wrote Past the Past (2023) which depicts Brad, who, after a fatal accident, must decide if his time traveling abilities are enough to save his girlfriend's life. Past the Past will premiere on January 5th, 2023 at the Utah Film Festival.
