Brittney Shepherd is a narrative and documentary filmmaker working between Texas and California. Her films have received support from the San Francisco Foundation, Austin Film Society, PBS/CPB, and Bay Area Video Coalition and have screened internationally at numerous national and international festivals.
In 2018, Brittney produced the short film June, which premiered on HBO the same year. Her narrative short, The Scar, screened at over 20 festivals and will air on PBS' Film School Shorts series this summer. In 2016 Brittney produced the kids adventure film Into the Who Knows! starring Bryce Gheisar, Macon Blair, and Lee Eddy. She produced the 2014 PBS documentary, A Fragile Trust, which screened on PBS' Independent Lens series and she was the Associate Producer of the Emmy® Award-nominated film, A Village Called Versailles.
She is a PBS Producers Academy alum, a Bay Area Video Coalition MediaMaker Fellow, and Emerging Artist Professionals Fellow. She holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in Ethnic Studies & an MFA in Film Production from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, she is the lead director and producer at a boutique creative studio based in the Bay Area, CA.
