Joanne is a Canadian actress, singer and model, best known for the role of Mae in the sci-fi short films by Ode Productions.
Joanne approaches acting like one does an extreme sport. A veteran performer, she was recently featured in the print and commercial ads for Chartered Professionals in Human Resources with Honest Agency. Her latest short film, Perfect Life, premiered at Gimli Film Festival and proved to be a distinct challenge for her - blending the skills and nuances of musical theatre with the world of film.
Not one to shy from away from drama, she joined My Frozen Heart with Crosswalk Productions as the anxiety-ridden Sarah Beau-Demers (lead) who tackles issues of sexual harassment in the industry and relationship toxicity as she tries to complete her most personal film yet. This original play written by Bertsinger Award winner Hannah Foulger and directed by Megan Andres debuted at Winnipeg Fringe in 2019.
Though clearly a very strong dramatic actress, Joanne leaves little to be desired when it comes to versatility. In the summer of 2018, she made her debut at Théâtre Cercle Molière as a comedienne for their tour of De bouche à oreille. Her next project with TCM titled Que faire d'Albert played to sold-out crowds and continued to Prairie Theatre Exchange as What To Do With Albert. This unique experience allowed her to successfully showcase her pride as a multilingual actress.
Upcoming projects include: Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) with Theatre Projects Manitoba as the iconic Juliet Capulet in early 2020 and a collaboration with the YMCA-YWCA.
