She manages teams for writing, research, pitching, distribution and marketing strategies for funded projects and companies.
Berardi is an associate producer on the feature film streaming on HBO Max, Golden Arm. In 2021, she co-produced the 5-part series, Color Lines: From Phillip to Floyd - A Podcast Exploring the American Tragedy of Race, Police Shootings & the Search for Justice. Featuring voiceover by the Emmy-winning Keith David, this limited series explores the American tragedy of race, police shootings and the search for justice. The series features firsthand accounts, insights, and perspectives from the most prominent voices in civil rights and police reform -- from U.S. Senator Cory Booker to Congresswoman Karen Bass to the Rev. Al Sharpton, civil rights attorney DeWitt Lacy, activist Nupol Kiazolu and others.
In 2019, her co-written feature screenplay Secrets of the South with Walter Richardson was named as an official selection of the San Francisco International Screenwriting Competition. The 2019 script also placed in the top 13 out of over 3,000 Scriptapalooza entries and was a quarter-finalist in the Finish Line Script Competition.
She graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television's MFA in Screenwriting program. In addition to penning numerous feature-length screenplays and television pilots, Berardi has also written and produced several award-winning short films with the support of well-known industry sponsors such as the Director's Guild of America (DGA), Kodak, Technicolor and Panavision. Berardi has had her work optioned; and was a finalist for the 2007 NAACP & NBC Screenwriting Fellowship and awarded the 2008 Young and the Restless Fellowship in Television.
A short film she produced with Richardson (during his tenure as a UCLA MFA director), entitled Forgive Us Our Transgressions was awarded the Silver World Medal at the 2010 New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards. The short film, a thesis project for Richardson and Berardi as part of the UCLA MFA program, was also sponsored by Panavision, Kodak and Technicolor and received generous financial support from the DGA when it was awarded the distinguished Frankenheimer Fellowship. Berardi produced writer-director Jenna Milly's debut short film, A Peacock-Feathered Blue, which screened first at the Atlanta Film Festival in 2009 and went on to become a featured selection at Austin Film Festival, The Baltimore Women's Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, LA Shorts Fest, DC Shorts Fest and Branchage International Film Festival in England. Berardi's short film credits also include penning the script for the short film Stew. During her tenure at UCLA, Berardi was an intern via the Department of Theater, Film & TV program on set for the first season of Ugly Betty on ABC.
As a parallel film producer and digital marketer, Berardi's creative portfolio also includes work for brands such as The Weather Channel and Georgia-Pacific.
A longtime instructor on filmmaking with Atlanta Film Festival, Berardi has also lectured for F&W Media (online), Camp Flix and the Atlanta Young Writers Institute.
