Ryan was born in Winnipeg, Canada. He was introduced to acting at age 14 when he was cast as a lead in a junior high school feature film. His first professional role was in YTV's 2030CE in 2001.
Shortly after, he shifted his focus to stage, where he was cast as John Proctor in Arthur Millers' The Crucible and Andrew Clark in a stage remake of "The Breakfast Club".
From 2005-2008, Ryan studied filmmaking at the University of Manitoba under Award Winning Filmmaker, Guy Maddin and Writer, George Toles.
From 2002-2011, Ryan worked on approximately 50 TV series and films in Extras Casting, the Assistant Directors Department and as a background performer. In 2011, he decided to leave the film industry to focus on a different career path.
In 2018, Ryan began auditioning again. Since returning, he's been cast in The Porter, First Person Shooter, SkyMed, and Bobby Farrelly directed feature film, Champions.
