One half of writing duo, John Cairns & Michael McCartney. John and Michael's shared love of intelligent, commercial thrillers led them to forge a partnership and write A Patch of Fog. Winner of Northern Ireland Screen's New Talent competition, A Patch of Fog was produced by Robert Jones (The Usual Suspects), directed by Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Michael Lennox (Boogaloo & Graham), and starred Stephen Graham (The Irishman) and Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones). A Patch of Fog premiered at Toronto and was nominated for the Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film at EIFF. John and Michael were then nominated for a BIFA 'Best Debut Screenwriter' at the British Independent Film Awards 2016.
