Jonathan Huber, a professional wrestler with both WWE and All Elite Wrestling who was best known under his ring names Brodie Lee and Luke Harper, died Saturday from undisclosed causes. He was 41.
His death was made public by All Elite Wrestling, with whom Huber had been signed since March.
“The All Elite Wrestling family is heartbroken. In an industry filled with good people, Jon Huber was exceptionally respected and beloved in every way — a fierce and captivating talent, a thoughtful mentor and simply a very kind soul that starkly contradicted his persona as Mr. Brodie Lee,” the organization said in a statement.
“Jon’s love for his wife Amanda, and children Brodie and Nolan, was evident to all of us who were fortunate to spend time with him, and we send our love and support to his beautiful family, today and always,” the statement continued. “Jon’s popularity among his...

With the continuing Coronavirus pandemic placing social restrictions on millions of people around the world, social media has proven to be an invaluable tool in allowing folks to stay connected to each other. This has led to many movie-related debates finding themselves trending online, ranging from trying to figure out which entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe can be declared the worst, to deciding whether Optimus Prime or Captain America was the more inspirational leader.
The subject of the latest discourse is the filmography of Jim Carrey, with Twitter users going back-and-forth in an attempt to declare which three entries from the rubber-faced funnyman’s back catalogue come out on top. However, the choice is limited to just eight movies, which means some heavy hitters and fan favorites don’t even make the initial cut.

For a show that was run without a live crowd, Aew delivered with its latest episode of Dynamite on TNT. Aew utilized Daily’s Place, a concert venue in Jacksonville, Fla. owned by the Khan family, and only wrestlers and essential personnel were allowed into the venue. Everyone who entered the building was also examined by medical staff before entering.
Aew took some lessons from WWE on the empty-arena concept and corrected some of the issues WWE had with Raw and SmackDown. First, Aew did technically have people in the crowd. An outside audience wasn’t allowed in, but Aew had the wrestlers not involved in the match on the outside of the guardrail yelling and creating an atmosphere during the matches.
On top of that, this episode of Dynamite was insanely newsworthy.

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is reportedly close to signing a deal with the WWE, according to Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com. Gronkowski, who retired from the NFL last year, has flirted with WWE in the past. At WrestleMania 33 in 2017, Gronkowski sat ringside and helped Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Gronkowski was also a frequent visitor to WWE events in the Boston area while he played for the Patriots, even attending a non-televised Nxt show in Lowell, Mass. a few years ago. While Gronkowski’s role within WWE hasn’t been confirmed, Satin reported that he could make his first appearance for the company on the March 20 SmackDown episode in New Orleans.
This past January, Gronkowski was photographed at a Super Bowl party with Triple H and Rawley, along with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Triple H tweeted the photo, and speculated that...

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has officially signed with WWE, an insider told TheWrap exclusively. The ex-NFL great is set to debut one week from Friday on the March 20 episode of Fox’s “SmackDown.”
Gronk is also due to appear at April 5’s WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, Fla., the insider told TheWrap. Current plans call for that appearance to be part of a build-up to a future match. In other words, the three-time Super Bowl champion will not have a match at the Super Bowl of professional wrestling — this year, at least.
The “SmackDown” debut makes sense for Gronk, who joined Fox Sports in October as an NFL analyst. Gronkowski’s Fox Sports deal spans multiple years, a Fox Sports spokesperson told TheWrap, and the expectation is that his football gig will continue.

Yowie wowie: Goldberg has defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at “Super ShowDown” Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, becoming the new WWE Universal Champion in the process. Guess how well that creative decision went over with fans?
Yes, say goodbye to that unbeaten streak and the immortal aura assigned to Wyatt’s demonic alter-ego. The push was nice while it lasted.
Goldberg’s shocking win, which required roughly three minutes of in-ring work, took four spears and one (kinda-sorta) jackhammer to get the job done. Along the way, the “Longest Yard” actor fought out of a pair of mandible claws, which is one of The Fiend’s finishing maneuvers. Bill Goldberg didn’t eat a Sister Abigail, for what that’s worth.

“Just when they think they’ve got the answers, I change…the culture.” Cm Punk shocked the world, sort of, by appearing on FS1 studio show “WWE Backstage” on Tuesday night.

Phil Brooks, Punk’s real name, will make select appearances in studio alongside host Renee Young and analyst Booker T, according to Fox Sports. Other regular contributors are fellow former WWE wrestlers Christian and Paige. Ryan Satin is the show’s news correspondent.

A spokesman for Fox Sports and Satin both confirmed the hiring for TheWrap. The news was first posted by The Big Lead.

The Undertaker is 54-years-old. Bill Goldberg is 52. So naturally, the two young wrestlers main-evented “WWE Super Showdown” in Saudi Arabia on Friday.
You can probably see where this is going. The Jeddah event’s final match was an absolute disaster filled with botched moves — some of which could have caused serious injury to the two legends.
But don’t take our word for how bad the highly touted first-time-ever bout was — the WWE Universe on Twitter is already calling Goldberg-Undertaker “the worst match of the year,” among other very un-superlative superlatives.

Legendary women’s wrestler Chyna is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next month as a founding member of D-Generation X (Dx). The WWE Universe is over the moon for the late Joanie Laurer, though a number of wrestling fans believe she is being shortchanged by going in as one member of a six-person faction, and not as a singles competitor.
“I think that X-Pac and Chyna deserve to get inducted into the Hof on their own, but Dx as a whole getting in might be the best compromise we’re going to get for the latter,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another member of the social media site was much more critical of the call by WWE brass, calling it “load of bollocks” that “Chyna can’t get in there on her own merit.”

After eight years of retirement, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels returned to the wrestling ring Friday for “WWE Crown Jewel” in Saudi Arabia. The WWE legend proved he still had some moves — unfortunately, The Undertaker and Kane forgot to help him out with a crucial one.
Midway through Friday’s main event match, Hbk climbed to the top turnbuckle to deliver a moonsault to the outside. It’s a high-risk maneuver, and one that requires cooperation from your target(s), who are meant to break the flipper’s fall. Unfortunately, the Brothers of Destruction didn’t quite do their part.

Taya: Lucha Underground is a show and original series that is on the El Rey Network. We are now in the midst of the Season 3 hiatus. We come back from break on May 31st. It's a show that combines lucha libre, combined with action and gritty actions sequences. Really like a graphic novel come to life. It's not a wrestling show. Uproxx is reporting that Lucha Underground will be making its return to the El Rey Network on May 31st for its Season 3 mid season premiere. Lucha Underground, for those that haven't seen it, is a unique blend of wrestling and B-movie intrigue. It centers on corrupt owner Dario Cueto who runs the Lucha Underground wrestling organization and his dealings with wrestlers and various unseemly characters like politicians, police, and Aztec deities. Here is a summary of Season 3 from the Lucha Underground website.
Dario Cueto has been released from prison, the mysterious Lucha Underground Temple is back in business. El Jefe is more confident than ever in his brother, the undefeated Lucha Underground Champion Matanza and his quest for violent domination. Now while one hero must take a dark path, others will have to take even greater sacrifices if they hope to save themselves and the world.

Wrestlemania is upon us today and the WWE loves to go all out with surprises for their audience. Last night at Nxt: Takeover Orlando for example, fans were shocked to see Drew McIntyre make his return to the WWE after a long stay at Impact Wrestling. Drew was the first member of the Impact Wrestling roster that left the company after Anthem purchased that company. Soon to follow were Matt and Jeff Hardy. The Hardy's made their way to Ring of Honor for what has ended up being a short stay. Last night at Supercard of Honor, the Hardy's faced off against The Young Bucks and lost the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships to them in an amazing ladder match. People have speculated that the Hardy's stay in Ring of Honor would be a short one.

February 10th, 1989 is an important date in professional wrestling history as that is the date that Vince McMahon, in testimony to the New Jersey State Senate, admitted that professional wrestling was not a sport but was in fact sports entertainment. The term they used in the wrestling business, kayfabe, giving the audience the illusion that what you were seeing was real and not staged, was officially dead.
That did not mean the death of the industry. In fact, it opened the flood gates for many other promotions to set up shop. Most importantly, it allowed the superstars themselves to finally tell fans stories of what happened back stage.

Wrestling is a unique business. Despite the best planning from the creative minds of any company, sometimes the injury bug will pop up when you least expect it throwing a wrench into your plans.
According to Ryan Satin from Pro Wrestling Sheet, during Monday's closing segment between Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins reinjured his knee. He'd previously torn his Acl in 2015, leading to a recovery that saw him come back in May of last year. All signs were pointing to Rollins facing off against Triple H at this year's Wrestlemania. As of right now, plans are in place for a replacement match at the biggest show of the year if Seth Rollins needs time off.
If this turns out to be something serious, it could not have happened at the worst time. Wrestlemania is the biggest event of the year and brings with it the biggest paycheck of the year.

In an exclusive report from ProWrestlingSheet.com, Ryan Satin has broken the news that WWE star Wade Barrett has opted not to renew his WWE contract that expires this summer
The reason the purveyor of Bad News seems to be leaving is that he’s unhappy with his role and direction in the company. Barrett’s current deal reportedly runs out in June or July.
Barrett signed with WWE ten years ago before making his main roster debut in 2010 as part of Nexus.
