Ferran Brooks

Ferran Brooks is a award-winning writer and director of film and advertising. He studied Advertising and Anthropology at the Universidad Catolica in Lima, the city where he was born. He won several awards like the Panavision New Filmmaker on Cannes 2012 for his works by a jury made up of Edward Norton, Shauna Robertson, Couper Samuelson, and Robert Harvey. Robert Harvey said about the spot: "it's everything great cinema should be". He is the only Peruvian or European (non-British) to have received the Panavision New Filmmaker. Paul Thomas Anderson, Zoe R. Cassavetes or Steven Soderbergh also received this prize.

As a filmmaker has been present at Film Festivals around the world such as - DocsDF - Mexico City International Documentary Film Festival, CurtocircuÃto -Internacional Fest, Interiora Horror Festival, Madeira Fantastic FilmFest, Mexico International Film Festival, Strasbourg International Film Festival, WorldFest Houston, Morbido Fest (Mexico), Soria International Short Film (Spain), Venecia OFF, Malaga Spanish Film Festival, Festival de New York Horror Cinema, Forum des Images du Center George Pompidou, etc. "Wordless" (an anti-war story) Circuito Off - Venice International Short Film Festival 2013 official selection, was finalist onto the "Ridley Scott Parallel Lines" short film contest.

He is a member of the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences for the specialty of film direction; founding member of ACCION - Spanish Association of Film Directors; Member of ALMA - the Screenwriters of Spain union, and member of ISA - International Screenwriters Association.
