Juan Sarquis
Born in Mexico City in 1984, he studied Communication at the Universidad Iberoamericana with a specialization in cinema. Shortly after graduating, he founded the production company Filmaciones de la Ciudad, with which he produced his first documentary feature: "Waiting for the Bitles" (2011), which premiered at the Morelia International Film Festival and the Latino Film Festival in New York. He also produced the short films "Dulce Dolor" (2014) and "La Cupla", both premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in 2018 and received nominations for jury awards. In addition, he produced the documentaries "Los truenos de San Juan" (2017), an official selection at the Morelia International Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, Cronograf Festival, and San Diego Latino Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Documentary. He was also involved in the production of "Sisyphus" (2019), which won the Golden Goblet for Best Documentary at the Shanghai International Film Festival, and the feature film "ColOZio" (2020) by Artemio Narro, which premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and FICUNAM.

Since 2021, he has been working as an executive producer and Development Manager at El Estudio, a production house founded by Pablo Cruz, Enrique Lopez Lavigne, and Diego Suarez Chialvo. In this role, he has been involved in projects such as "Love is Love" (2023) by Rob Schneider and the series "Marea Alta" and "Al grito de guerra" for ViX+, and he oversees a slate of more than 15 projects in development. He was also the producer of the medium-length film "Lumbre" (2021), which won the Center National Des Artes Plastiques Prize at the FIDMarseille Festival.
