UFC legend Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is set to take on a new challenge as the lead in Winter: Battleground, an explosive sci-fi action film slated for release in early 2025. Epic Pictures Group will show an exclusive trailer and footage at the American Film Market in Las Vegas this November.

Known for his fearless fighting spirit, Cowboy brings his signature grit to the role of a battle-hardened warrior in a post-apocalyptic world, where he must lead a team against powerful forces in an AI-controlled wasteland.

Directed by David Christopher Pitt, Winter: Battleground promises to deliver edge-of-your-seat thrills and showcases Cerrone’s transition from octagon to on-screen hero. Currently in post-production, the film is set to release in 2025.

Conor McGregor was supposed to fight his Ultimate Fighter nemesis, Michael Chandler, this month at UFC 303. However, Dana White announced this week that the fight is off. White said Conor suffered an injury and couldn’t compete, so he added a couple of fights and rearranged the main event.

Saban Films has unveiled the official trailer for action crime thriller The Commando, another forgettable formulaic action feature to ignore because all of these films are the same nowadays. A DEA agent with Ptsd returns home after a botched mission and must now protect his family from a home invasion after a recently freed convict and his henchmen come back for their stash of millions hidden inside the agent's home. "Stakes are high and lives are at risk in this head-to-head battle as the agent stops at nothing to protect his family against the money-hungry criminals." Why do they always recycle the same "protect your home because they want the money" plot over and over? The Commando stars Mickey Rourke and Michael Jai White, with Jeff Fahey, Brendan Fehr, John Enos III, Donald Cerrone, and Gianni Capaldi. At least the action doesn't look so bad in this film.

The first big sporting event of 2021 is upon us, as Conor McGregor takes on Dustin Poirier in tonight’s UFC 275 pay-per-view event on ESPN+.

The big fight airs live from “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, where the UFC has held a number of its PPV events since the coronavirus pandemic first hit in March.
