Julio Chavezmontes is a Mexican producer and screenwriter, winner of the Special Jury Prize for Screenwriting at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival for Time Share (2018) and twice nominated to the Ariel Award. In 2011, he founded PIANO with Sebastian Hofmann, to produce and distribute challenging and original films. Their feature debut Halley (2012) premiered internationally in the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Since then, Julio Chavezmontes has produced or coproduced some of the most important filmmakers working today, such as Leos Carax, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Mia Hansen-Løve, and Abel Ferrara, among others.
