Brett is passionate about teaching and has taught rally, drift and truck driving, boxing, parkour, gymnastics, rock climbing, martial arts and meditation to the stunt community, for professional development and to disadvantaged youth. He is also a competent public speaker and workshop facilitator.

Brett is a competent freediver and has competed in underwater hockey and freediving competitions.

Realizing his passion for filmmaking in high school, he would always watch the behind the scenes documentaries and DVD commentaries before returning DVDs to the rental store. He skipped out on studies in the school holidays between grade 11 and 12, instead choosing to watch the entire Matrix film trilogy and subsequent behind the scenes footage, featurettes and audio commentaries. A total of nearly some 50 hours.
