REZA LEAL-SMARTT born in San Diego, CA on the 3rd of September 1997, started to display her love for the arts of singing, dancing, and acting at a very early age. It first began when she was 4 years old when she started putting on her own small shows for her friends and family. Seeing her love for the stage and the performing arts, her parents decided to enroll her into her first dance academy for Ballet and dance.
In 2004 at the age of 7, Reza danced and performed in her first ever production "The Nutcracker". She loved it so much that her parents decided to continue supporting her passion for the arts.
At the age of 11 years, Reza auditioned for the Washington Center for Performing Arts Production of ""Here We Come Away Sailing" and started performing in spring showcases and productions with Studio West Dance Academy. She also began acting and singing lessons at this time. She enjoyed working with Nancy Hillman's Theatre Group for small productions that include Comedic Drama and Musicals (A Fairy Tale) put on at the local theater.
In 2011 she landed her first featured role in a short film (Charlie's Dilemma) and later a co-star role in a featured film (Sense & Sensibility). Since then Reza has also been featured in commercials for companies like Microsoft and Nickelodeon. In 2013 Reza achieved a reoccurring role on a three time Emmy nominated TV show (Biz Kid$). She is also known (2017) for her roles in Wallflower (Paradigm Productions) and (2019) Here Awhile (TruLime Productions).
Reza continues to also do many other types of work within the acting and dance world, and will always have a passion for the arts, wherever that may take her in the future.
TRAINING
Reza has had extensive training in the arts of acting and dance. She started learning with a close family friend and well known actress Linda Evans and since has studied/trained from many other acting teachers/directors. Some including Bo Kane, Gary Spatz, Jodi Rothfeild, Nike Imoru, Chambers Stevens, and Angela DiMarco/David Hogan. She has also received vocal coaching from multiple coaches throughout the years.
She has had training in many dance styles/techniques as well such as Ballet, Lyrical/Jazz, and Hip Hop and is continuing to grow on those dancing skills. She is an avid reader and a determined hard worker in her education, graduated along with an Associates Degree in Biology.
Aside from the artistic world, Reza also enjoys skiing, swimming, singing/listening to music, and has always greatly enjoyed hiking and the great outdoors.
