Cedar attended the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico at a peak of filming in the state and graduated with a BFA in Acting. While in College he also studied with the New York Arts Program, where he spent his time interning at a talent agency and got to perform with other college students from around the US in a 50th anniversary of Westside Story performed at Gerald W. Lynch Theater. He was accepted as an Actor in residence at the Maine Media Workshops and spent numerous summers acting on set in Maine.
