Melinda Pitz
- Actress
Melinda Pitz is a multilingual Hungarian actress based in Budapest. Growing up bilingual in a small Hungarian-German town, she developed a love for languages and a curiosity about other cultures and people. As a child, she explored various art forms-drawing, painting, embroidery, crafts, dancing, writing poetry, and singing-all of which nurtured her creativity and ultimately led her to discover her true passion: acting.
She received formal acting training in Hungary and began her career in theater, performing in Hungarian, German, English, and Romanian, both locally and abroad. Her artistic background includes professional singing training in classical music, operettas, musicals, and chansons. With over 15 years of theater experience, including a wide range of roles in dramas, comedies, and musicals, she is now focusing on her film career.
She often portrays vulnerable women who find their inner strength and courage to transform their lives, even in challenging and hostile environments. Recently, she took on the lead role in the feature film Air Hunger, portraying a repressed woman who confronts her demons to escape an abusive relationship and rebuild her life. Melinda's work has been screened at film festivals and has received awards, earning her recognition for her ability to portray deeply authentic and emotionally layered characters. In the award-winning film Bound Legs, she plays the lead role of a mother whose controlling, problem-solving nature leads to a tragic conflict with her son as she struggles to move past her own core wounds.
Believing in the importance of continuous training, she participates in TIAS - The International Acting Studio, attending Advanced Scene Study classes, immersing herself in the Chubbuck and Gister techniques, and working with an accent coach to perfect an American accent. She is a passionate reader with a special interest in psychology, which helps her delve into the subconscious of her characters and build complex layers. Through her work, she seeks to inspire audiences by shedding light on the darkest parts of the human soul, offering a space for healing and self-reflection.
