Director, producer and editor Qutaiba Barhamji was born in Damascus, Syria.
His works have been shown around the world at festivals including Cannes, Venice, Sundance, IDFA, Rotterdam, Paris, Nyon, and many others. Among them are the multi-award-winning documentary films "Still Recording" (2018, dir. Ghiath Ayoub and Saeed Al Batal), "Poisonous Roses" (2018, dir. by Ahmed Fawzi) that represented Egypt at the Oscars, "Little Palestine: Diary of a Siege" (2021, dir. Abdallah Al Khatib), "How to save a dead friend" (2022, dir. Marusya Syroechkovskaya), and "Four Daughter (Les filles d'Olfa)" (2023, dir. by Kaouther Ben Hania) official competition in Cannes Film Festival, winner of L'Oeil d'or 2023.
His first feature length documentary film as a director Gevar's Land participated in more than 30 festivals including Cinéma du Réel, Doclisboa, Jihlava, IDFA 2020 and Odessa International Film Festival (Special Mention of the Jury).
