Hope Muehlbauer was born December 13, 1999 in Niagara Falls, New York. She is an American film director, writer and actress who made her first feature film at the age of 16. She has grown up watching horror films and is very passionate about the genre. At the age of 12, Hope wrote, acted in and directed her first short film called "Zombie Kids" (2013), which played multiple festivals and received high praise for being so ambitious and passionate at such a young age. Hope also made another short film during her junior year of high school while simultaneously editing her first feature film, the horror comedy, "You'll Never Guess Who's Killing You" (2017). The short was much more lighthearted than her most recent film, "I Dare You to Open Your Eyes" (2018). "I Dare You to Open Your Eyes" is Hope's debut feature film, which she wrote, directed and editing during her four years of high school. "I Dare You to Open Your Eyes" follows the story of a high school student named Max Adams, who is dealing with the loss of his mother, maintaining a relationship with his depressed father, and being a victim of high school bullying. Max begins to have a series of twisted dreams about his bullies that push him over the edge.
"I Dare You to Open Your Eyes" is going to begin making its way through the festival circuit this winter. Hope's production company, "Hopeless Pictures", is working on distribution of the film and properly releasing it this winter.
