Ismo Väisänen was born in 1964.
Ismo Väisänen was discovered from the performing arts class at elementary school in Helsinki to trial heats by his performing arts teacher. And after trial heats he was chosen from candidates to act at Finnish National Theatre.
He starred in several plays at Finnish National theater during 1979-1983. The first play named "On Golden Pond" by Ernest Thompson was a successful play in Finland and it was performed over 100 times almost always for full crowded audiences. Two Finnish legends Hannes Häyrinen and Eeva-Kaarina Volanen were starring in major roles. Ernest Thompson who is an Academy Award-winning playwright, screenwriter, director, actor, lyricist, an in-demand public speaker, and a teacher wrote "On Golden Pond" and came to Finland to see the play.
Ismo Väisänen also starred in Helsinki City Theatre occasionally.
Ismo Väisänen was involved in a number of radio plays at Yle, which is Finland's national public service broadcasting company.
He also appeared in open-air theater plays and in some poetry happenings.
In 1984 Ismo Väisänen decided to study economics in the United States in California instead of acting professionally.
