“Sometimes the truth isn’t good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.” These words, spoken by Bruce Wayne in The Dark Knight (2008), perfectly encapsulate the heart of what makes Superman such an enduring and ever-evolving character. Man of Steel has always represented more than just a superhero—he is the embodiment of ideals, hope, and the unrelenting drive for good.
As the years have rolled on, various directors have put their own spin on the iconic Man of Steel, each adding their own brushstrokes to his legendary image. At the forefront of these recent transformations stand Zack Snyder and James Gunn, two creative forces who are steering Superman’s ship in entirely different directions.

Spotify has officially entered the Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef group chat.
The top music streamer responded to Drake’s claim that the company inflated the streams of Lamar’s diss song aimed at him on Friday in a new filing, saying: “Umg and Spotify have never had any arrangement in which Umg charged Spotify licensing rates 30 percent lower than its usual licensing rates for ‘Not Like Us’ in exchange for Spotify affirmatively recommending [‘Not Like Us]’, including ‘to users who are searching for other songs and artists.’”
“The Petition claims that an unidentified individual reported on a podcast that he used bots to achieve 30,000,000 streams on Spotify in the first days of the release of ‘Not Like Us.’ Spotify found no evidence to substantiate this claim,” the streamer continued in its opposition papers.

When Michael Berkowitz of management company Greenlight Group signed TikToker Jordan Howlett in 2021, Howlett had 2 million followers and was working full-time flipping pizzas. He hadn’t yet developed his signature style: Now, he opens almost every video with his famous “Come here” bathroom mirror zoom, and most often goes on to share some kind of life advice or a restaurant-related secret, like a permanent discount code or a sauce recipe.
For Greenlight Group, snagging Howlett was about more than signing a single creator to its roster. Berkowitz, who launched Greenlight with childhood friend Doug Landers in 2020, believed the $250 billion content creation industry was entering a new era–one where blue-collar workers find audiences online by being both relatable and aspirational.

Since Kendrick Lamar took aim at Drake with his verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” in the spring of 2024, the Compton and Canadian rappers have traded dozens of dark verses (and counting) in a beef unlike any before it. Since then, there have been accusations of domestic abuse and sexual misconduct lobbed back and forth, a massive victory lap of a concert in Los Angeles, legal filings made, and more. While the pair’s War of Words hit its biggest crescendo in May with Kendrick Lamar’s...

Eminem, one of the most iconic names in the music industry, has had a life filled with both extraordinary success and deeply personal challenges. A significant part of his journey was his complex relationship with his mother, Debbie Nelson. On December 2, 2024, Debbie passed away after a prolonged battle with advanced lung cancer.

Tyler Perry’s new Netflix film, The Six Triple Eight, casts a long-overdue spotlight on the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-Black, all-female unit to serve in the United States Army during World War II. The film, which premieres on December 20, follows the inspirational story of these 855 women who processed millions of backlogged letters and supplies to bolster the morale of soldiers overseas while experiencing discrimination and segregation both at home and abroad.
The film centers on the narrative of Charity Adams, the highest-ranking African-American woman in the US Army. Adams, played by Kerry Washington, guides the Battalion through their critical task, which has been largely neglected in military and African-American history.
Some of the project’s contributors find personal meaning in it. Rapper Big Sean went to the Los Angeles premiere with his mother to honor a personal connection: his grandmother was a member of the 6888th Battalion.

As the stars of Tyler Perry’s The Six Triple Eight reunited on the red carpet during the Los Angeles premiere of the upcoming Netflix war film, rapper Big Sean revealed a special connection to the story — which finds Kerry Washington in the lead role of the real-life Charity Adams, commanding officer of the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion during World War II and the highest-ranking African American woman in the Army at that time. Big Sean’s grandmother was one of the 855 who served in the only Women’s Army Corps unit of color during the battle.
“I told Tyler Perry how thankful I was because it’s such an overlooked crucial piece of American history and Black history,” Big Sean told The Hollywood Reporter as he walked the red carpet with his mother, both holding framed pictures of his grandmother. “The 6888 battalion connected millions and millions with over 17 million...

Eminem has had quite the roller coaster life. From finding success as Slim Shady early on, to undergoing rehab time and again, life has moved at quite the pace for the Godzilla rapper. While he currently sits atop many fans’ hearts, there have been instances which would be enough to break any normal person.
While there are many episodes worth recounting that might be enough to haunt many people in life, there is one which might still top the list – the $11 million defamation lawsuit filed against him by none other than his mother.

After stepping back from his feud with Kendrick Lamar over the summer, Drake has accused his record label of artificially boosting the success of the song “Not Like Us.” The diss track soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and, according to many who followed the feud between the rappers, gave Lamar a definitive victory over Drake. Months after its release, lawyers for Drake have filed legal papers accusing Universal Music Group of defamation and illegally boosting Lamar’s track.

Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar has reached another level: The Canadian rapper is claiming that Universal Music Group and Spotify have inflated the streams of Lamar’s diss song aimed at him.
Drake’s Frozen Moments company filed a petition in a New York court Monday, alleging that Umg — the parent label both rappers are signed to — “launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves with a song, ‘Not Like Us,’ in order to make that song go viral, including by using ‘bots’ and pay-to-play agreements.”
Umg said in a statement that the allegations are “offensive and untrue.” Drake is signed to Umg subsidiary Republic Records, while Lamar is signed to Umg’s Interscope Records. The petition comes days after Lamar released the surprise album Gnx and months before he will headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

Ten years ago, in 2014, DeJ Loaf seemed on the cusp of superstardom. As new information continues to come out about Sean “Diddy” Combs and his alleged “freak-off” parties, many celebrities have tried to distance themselves from the Bad Boy Records founder.

There’s apparently still plenty of money to be made in crypto because The Black Keys have signed on to play the final show of “The America Loves Crypto Tour,” which is a not-at-all ridiculously named concert series hosted by the (we kid you not) Stand with Crypto Alliance political action committee.
The “intimate show” goes down next Friday, October 25th at the Akron Civic Theatre in The Black Keys’ hometown of Akron, Ohio. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are just the latest musicians to play in support of the Pac. Rapper J. Cole returned to the spotlight with his latest track, “Port Antonio,” where he reflects on his decision to step away from the ongoing feud between two of rap’s biggest names, Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
The German-born, North Carolina-raised rapper’s surprise release, shared on Instagram, isn’t just about distancing himself from the conflict. Instead, Cole uses the track to critique the toxic dynamics that fuel the genre’s and fans’ fixation on drama.
“I can see hate in both of your eyes but the third’s blind / So you search lines / But you struggle, which explains the puzzled look on the dull face as the word finds,” Cole raps. He references the hostility between Drake and Lamar, noting that while they may be fueled by anger, they’re missing the higher wisdom symbolized by the third eye.

The German-born, North Carolina-raised rapper’s surprise release, shared on Instagram, isn’t just about distancing himself from the conflict. Instead, Cole uses the track to critique the toxic dynamics that fuel the genre’s and fans’ fixation on drama.

There’s no other anime in the history of the world that has had a greater influence on global pop culture than Dragon Ball. Every year since 2015, fans can see Super Saiyan Blue Goku floating around in the streets of New York during Macy’s Thanksgiving parade. The martial arts presented in Dragon Ball were a huge inspiration for Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Everyone from Frank Ocean to Joey Bada$$ and even Drake has made references to Dragon Ball Z in their songs, with Drake even depicting using a Kamehameha wave in a fictional dance match with Chris Brown. On the other hand, fans also know that Dragon Ball was in turn influenced by Western media like Star Wars, Cinderella, and Jackie Chan movies. But there’s another aspect of Dragon Ball that...

Eminem has dropped a new music video for his song “Temporary” that’s filled with old home movies, and also a few new ones, including a clip where the rapper learns he’s going to be a grandfather.

The clip largely consists of old footage of father and daughter from the late Nineties and early 2000s, just as Eminem’s star was ascending. It’s interspersed with some more recent clips, including footage from Hailie’s wedding,...

Who is Katy Perry? As she reminded people in the initial run-up to her comeback single “Woman’s World,” where she dusted off her six RIAA-bestowed Diamond awards, she’s one of the biggest-selling pop stars of the millennium, with fizzy, playful tracks like “California Gurls” and strident empowerment anthems like “Firework” racking up millions of sales. She’s judged wannabes on American Idol; she’s headlined the Super Bowl halftime show; she’s celebrated a king’s coronation. She’s done it all, backwards and in heels.

Eminem kicked off the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with a performance of “Houdini” and his Jelly Roll collaboration “Somebody Save Me” off his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

Eminem is set to open the 2024 MTV VMAs with the first TV show performance from his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady.
The rapper is nominated for eight VMAs this year, including video of the year, best hip-hop, song of the summer and VMAs’ most iconic performance for his 2000 medley of “Real Slim Shady” and “The Way I Am,” which included more than 100 look-alikes.
Currently tied with Peter Gabriel for the most VMA wins by a solo male artist in show history, Eminem could break that record with just one win this year. He also holds the record for most wins by a rap artist with 13 VMAs and is the second most nominated artist in VMAs history with 67 nods, trailing only Madonna with 71 nods.
Eminem joins a performers lineup that includes Anitta (featuring Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and Tiago Pzk), Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Karol G,...

The pandemic encouraged much of the world to pursue new (and likely temporary) hobbies — kitchen chemists experimented with sourdough starters, homeowners convinced themselves to be home renovators, and binge-watchers got really into Tiger King. For a then 14-year-old Laila Smith, it was GarageBand. Experimenting with Apple’s free music production software turned into posting her first song, “Like That,” to TikTok in 2023 as Laila!. The 32-second stop-motion clip of herself posing under blue and red lights holding a stuffed Pikachu pulled a million views but reached an algorithmic fever-pitch when...

The internet let out a collective sob when Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, shut down rumors that the 32-time Grammy winner would be performing at the Democratic National Convention.
“At home watching and anticipating the VP’s historic speech,” wrote Noel-Schure prior to Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Nominee, taking the stage on Thursday. “Focus on the win and register to vote. Do not report rumors. Focus.”
Her post was seen as a direct reference to rampant speculation that the Renaissance star would appear at the four-day long event.

“Rump Punch,” an early single from the Bronx drill Casanova Cash Cobain’s new album Play Cash Cobain, rides a glittering piano riff layered over the rapper-producer’s signature drums—boisterous and staggered, the air in between each drop packed with a sly romantic tension. Cash is a blueprint for a new kind of rap-r&b crossover. Lyrically, he’s able to turn top-tier raunchiness into something smoother (Pussy taste like rum punch,” he cooly raps on the track), all while he builds out a sonic universe that’s taking the rap world by storm.
