Hector Almaguer is an entertainment industry executive with over 30 years experience as an attorney, musician, writer, record producer, content creator, whose work has won a Clio Award and has been Grammy nominated. He is a business affairs executive with a deep understanding of scripted and unscripted television, music, and new media matters.
Hector Almaguer received an undergraduate degree in Studio Music and Jazz from the University of Miami. He spent the next dozen years as a record producer with his production company Mor 2 D'Pop Productions, a music publisher through Rhythm Time Publishing, BonVox Music and NCR Publishing and an entrepreneur through his record label Next Century Records distributed by BMG with his long-time music collaborator Enrique "Kiki" Garcia (best known as one of the original members of Miami Sound Machine and writer of hits like "Conga", "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You", "123" and "Dr. Beat").
Hector Almaguer worked for and has done deals with some of biggest names in entertainment including Viacom, Discovery, Fox, HBO, Universal Music, Warner Music Group, Rocnation and talent such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Kevin Hart, Monique, Steve Harvey, Guy Fieri, Ben and Erin Napier, Julio Iglesias, Chayanne, and many many others.
Hector Almaguer tells the story of how in the middle of a very successful music career, he felt his skills on the business side were lacking and it was then he decided to attend law school. While running these very successful music businesses, Hector Almaguer attended law school at the University of Miami and emphasized his studies in intellectual property.
Most recently, Hector has published the first in a series of children's books "Hector the Inventor" and as of the time of this bio, his second book is almost ready for publication. Through it all and at the center of his career is his deep understanding of what it means to create content and protect it as the valuable intellectual property that it is. He has been a professor and lecturer at the University of Miami as well a panelist for professional entertainment industry seminars.
