Kylae Jordan
- Producer
Born into a middle class family in San Jose California to Gloria & Gary
Jordan, Kylae was always full of youthful exuberance and had a passion
for all things sports. In the late 1980's his family moved to San Diego
CA where he sustained a life altering accident when he crashed through
a plate glass window severing both his kneecaps. Doctors initially told
him he may never walk right again and he would certainly never play
sports again. After three years of intense physical therapy Kylae
eventually regained his ability to walk, run, and became an avid
fencer, cyclist, and saxophonist. That life changing episode lead to
him discovering and reading Ayn Rand's philosophy "Objectivism" and
playing the alto saxophone while recovering from the injury during his
high school years. In 1992 he qualified for the junior Olympics in
Fencing and went to Kansas to compete but was knocked out before the
top 64 on the second day. The following year he won the "Louis
Armstrong Jazz Award" and continued his musical sojourn. Kylae
eventually met his Idol, saxophone legend David Sanborn who took him on
as a student a decade later.
Opting not to pursue music school since he was already touring and recording albums, He moved to Los Angeles to continue College and finish a bachelors in science in Business Administration. Music came second after he worked on a live TV show called the "Home & Family Show" during the summer of 96'. Encouraged by his friend Erich Leon Harris, Kylae studied acting and got an agent for commercial work. Erich had written a book called "African American Screenwriters Now" and was garnering some attention with his writing skills. Erich had also written a script called "Maestro" and thought Kylae fit the role of the best friend. HBO eventually optioned it and it sat on a shelf for several years. Erich was writing for Movie Maker Magazine and decided to take Kylae along on dozens of his interviews as his assistant. This took him to New York to interview Spike Lee, and onto the set of "One Eight Seven" to spend a day with Samuel L. Jackson. Kylae also went on to work for Tollin Robbins Productions for two years and got the chance to study under Mike Tollin who literally encouraged Kylae to follow him around and learn everything there was to running a high end production company. To this day Kylae feels indebted to Mike Tollin for taking him under his wing.
In July of 2000 Erich Leon Harris was murdered at his home. With the loss of his friend, and HBO continually delaying production of "Maestro", Kylae became disenchanted with Hollywood and no longer felt any passion or joy for the work. After graduating College Kylae became an (SEO) search engine expert and worked for dot-coms. In 2003 he started his own dot-com and has been running it successfully ever since.
The re-introduction of working on film and television came in 2011 as the feelings of youthful exuberance and perhaps hubris took place. Thus the desire to produce at a high level has taken shape.
