Azwan Badruzaman is an Award Winning Director, Actor and Editor who grew up in Amherst, MA. At a young age Azwan became a member of Amherst Media, the local public access station. There he learned how to produce skits, short films and music videos, channeling his 'Jackass'-influenced energy into the creative arts. Well into his twenties, young Az pursued a musical career, before taking flight to Los Angeles, CA where he soaked up the Hollywood scene and changed his life major back to film.
In 2018 Azwan landed a video editor position at NBCU's Digital Lab where he edited short form content including 'What the Fashion' and 'The Rundown'. In 2021 he secured a video Video Editor/Producer at IndieWire (a film/TV website) working on everything under the sun including podcasts ('Screen Talk', 'Toolkit'), live events ('Honors', 'The Future of Filmmaking', 'Sundance Studio'), sponsored content ('Awards Spotlight', 'Consider This', 'Craft Considerations'), in-person studio interviews and a countless number of sizzle reels, news stories and social content. Azwan's work has been instrumental to IndieWire's sales department generating enthusiasm and strong relationships with companies including Netflix, Disney, Hulu and A24 to name a few.
Azwan has also written/directed/produced/edited and acted in 3 short films, 'Reason for Leaving', 'Farmer Ed' which was officially selected to 16 film festivals, 3 of those being Academy Award qualifying festivals and 'Vinyl Thief' which will be released in 2025. If you haven't picked up on it yet, Azwan is an absolute workhorse... But also a multi-talented unicorn of boundless creativity and raw talent.
