Rachael Leigh Cook, the star of the 1999 film “She’s All That,” has joined the cast of Miramax’s gender-swapped remake, titled “He’s All That.”

Cook will portray the mother of Padgett Sawyer, the remake’s protagonist, played by TikTok star Addison Rae. In the 1999 original, Cook played Laney Boggs, the lovable art nerd who was made over by Freddie Prinze Jr.’s character, Zackary Siler.

“He’s All That” stars Rae in a role inspired by Zackary and “Cobra Kai” actor Tanner Buchanan as Cameron Kweller, the least popular boy in school. In an attempt to avenge her reputation from an embarrassing fallout with her boyfriend, Padgett accepts the challenge to turn Cameron into the school’s Prom King.

“I’m thrilled to be reunited with so many familiar faces! This version has a great new spin that I think people will really enjoy,” Cook said.

Kourtney Kardashian is to make a cameo in the upcoming film He’s All That, starring TikTok influencer Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai).

Reality TV star and socialite Kardashian broke the news of her film debut with an Instagram post on Tuesday that showed her looking at a script. She captioned the post with “studying @hesallthatmovie.”

The film’s Instagram account then reposted Kardashian’s photo with the caption: “Introducing Jessica Miles Torres.”

In the gender-swapped redo of the 1999 movie, Rae is playing Padgett Sawyer, who is inspired by Freddie Prinze Jr.’s character Zack Siler from the original. Per the new film’s account, Cobra Kai actor Buchanan will play Cameron Kweller.

Directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls), the update is written by R. Lee Fleming, who wrote She’s All That. Original producers Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay are also on board, and the film is being produced by Miramax.

The film’s official Instagram account then reposted Kardashian’s photo on their story, writing: “Introducing Jessica Miles Torres.” Further details about Kardashian’s role in the film have not been revealed, other than the fact that it is a cameo appearance.

Kardashian and Rae appear to be close friends, having posted many photos together on social media and often appearing in each other’s TikTok videos.

A subgenre within a subgenre, the all female biker gang movie has a long pedigree but has been curiously absent from our screens in recent years, perhaps because directors haven't known how to handle it. It's frequently exploitative in its attitude to women and sometimes homophobic, though it's also given us some of the best leather dyke characters ever to stride across the screen. Written by Timothy Durham (Blood Ride) and directed by Melanie Aitkenhead, Revenge Ride is an independent horror movie about an all-female biker crew named Dark Moon, who are out for revenge when member of the gang, Maggie’s (Serinda Swan) cousin Mary (Vanessa Dubasso) is drugged an assaulted by a group of football players. It harkens back to old exploitation biker flicks of the 70s, as well as female-fronted revenge pictures like Savage Streets.

I was attracted to the film immediately, being a fan of the genres it feels like an homage to. A terrific cast, I thought most delivered in their roles, with Serinda Swan (Ballers) as Maggie and Polyanna McIntosh as Gang Leader, Trigga, both standing out the most for me. Lrm: I’m curious. Where did your story originate from for Friends Effing Friends Effing Friends?

Quincy Rose: As a writing, you’re always thinking about different concepts or you might be thinking about telling a different story that might be entertaining. I’ve overheard some conversations with friends. People...

Quincy Rose, the godson of Woody Allen and the offspring of the late Mickey Rose (an Allen collaborator on films such as Bananas and a writer for The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson), has just scribed, directed, produced, and edited his second feature film, Friends Effing Friends Effing Friends (Fefef) so roll out the red carpet and blow the horns. Such an amazing lack of talent has seldom been contained in a mere 117 minutes.

This is not to propose that Mr. Rose is totally bereft of any artistry. The trailer for his initial effort, Miles to Go (2012), in which he stars, displays an engagingly high-strung neuroticism in his Allenesque take on heterosexual relationships, and you can't help but wish he had cast himself as a lead in Fefef.

But before I decimate the theatrics and the writing, let's confront the plot. Two childhood buddies -- one circumcised, the other not...
