Peggy has produced shorts and music videos, worked in casting for a variety of projects including Julio Quintana's "The Long Game" and Terrence Malick's "Song to Song", and directed the short film "Laurie's Poem".

- Peggy is a descendant of the first non-native inhabitant of New Orleans, 10 years before the city was founded. Antoine Rivard dit LaVigne was granted land by Bienville and his land is now The New Orleans Fairgrounds, site of Jazz Fest.
- Peggy is the 4th of 6 children of Margie & Bob Shirer, a 6th generation casket maker. Bob makes special 'cut-down' caskets that fit into the old New Orleans tombs and he made some of the coffins for the film "Interview with a Vampire".
