Tamiyka is a dynamic and versatile actor. Born in Corpus Christi, she grew up in Houston. She was in after school drama programs in middle and high school. And she competed in several pageants in her early teens. Tamiyka attended to the University of Houston and while there, she co-founded a non-profit arts organization. She performed in several local theaters before being she was discovered by Kenny Ortega as a featured extra. She later went on to be cast locally in some film and music videos.
After graduation, she moved to the Bay Area and after an intense summer session at America Conservatory Theatre, she hit the pavement and worked throughout the Bay Area at several theaters. Then she moved to Los Angeles attending workshops and open casting calls. She booked her first commercial for StubHub and received her SAG card. She was recently seen on Rap Sh!t, Your Honor, Finding Happy with Kim Coles and Angela Gibb and Immortal City Records starring RonReaco Lee and D. Woods.
She recently worked with Justin Thoreaux in a new work space comedy created by Mindy Kaling to be released on Netflix in 2025. She is a fan both of Miss Piggy and The Tiny Chef. And she prides herself on being a Houstonian and claims being an Angeleno.
