Avengers: Infinity Wars directors Joe and Anthony Russo have just acquired the rights to an illustrated novel from Simon Stålenhag called The Electric State. Apparently, there was a heated bidding war for the project and they ended up winning.
According to Deadline, they are also in talks with It director Andy Muschietti to helm the project and this sounds like an awesome, visually stunning film for him to work on! The script for the movie will be written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely who both wrote Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War.
The novel is a "re-imagined low tech apocalyptic mid 90s vision of the American West, with stunning visual artwork. The narrative artbook was produced through a Kickstarter campaign, a link worth watching because it conveys the visual scope with compelling images. Simon Stålenhag is the internationally acclaimed author, concept designer and artist behind Tales...

Swifties weren’t ready for it, but the newly released music video for “…Ready for It?” contains specific Easter eggs and could be validating some popular fan theories. Let the games begin!
In the anime-inspired visual, Taylor Swift plays with themes seen in sci-fi films such as Tron and Blade Runner as well as Ghost in the Shell, specifically Major Motoko’s cyborg shell. A little bit of the video game franchise, Final Fantasy, perhaps?
And the latest Joseph Kahn-directed footage even contains follow-up references originally made in the “Look What You Made Me Do” video as well as her past music videos.

It’s a good time to be a Red Dwarf fan. After years off our screens, and talk of a movie that ultimately came to naught, the show made its return with Back To Earth in 2009. UKTV Freeview channel Dave was revealed as the new home of the show, and it’s fair to say that they’ve treated the small rouge one very well in the years since the big comeback.

One of the more exciting aspects of Avengers: Infinity War is the fact that the Guardians of the Galaxy will finally cross paths with the Avengers! Who will have the most banter with Star-Lord? What will Rocket think of Tony Stark’s tech? Will Groot and Hulk be best friends? Who will be more clueless, Thor or Drax? The possibilities are endless, but unfortunately the length of the film will not be.
Dave Bautista had an interview with Yahoo! Movies to talk about his new film Bushwick, and of course his Marvel character, Drax, came up. Bautista revealed who he shares the most screentime with and how the directing Russo brothers let him riff:

More than 40 years after “Jaws” turned the fear of shark-infested waters into a classic horror trope, the concept keeps giving rise to new iterations, most recently with Liongate’s release of “Open Water 3: Cage Dive.” The low-budget project opens in limited theatrical release and VOD August 11, and it’s a curious outcome for what was a sensation at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and became a $54 million worldwide hit.
At this point, the franchise carries no earmarks of its indie roots — OW3 is a gimmicky story about Australian tourists whose cage-diving excursion with Great Whites goes horribly wrong — but the team behind the original installment never expected the concept to last this long. They didn’t even consider it a horror film.
In 2002, filmmaker Chris Kentis and his wife, Laura Lau, wrapped a passion project that had consumed two years of effort. Based on a true story about scuba divers...

Ellen DeGeneres is set to host Ellen’s Game of Games, NBC’s supersized, standalone version of the popular games from the daytime-tv queen’s eponymous talk show.
Contestants will be pulled from the audience to maneuver obstacles, avoid plunges and answer questions, all to receive a cash prize from Ellen herself.
“We’re pulling out all the stops — gigantic sets, hilarious games,” DeGeneres said in a statement. “It’s going to be like a combination of American Ninja Warrior, RuPaul’s Drag Race and a water park. Ok, it’s nothing like that, but you should still watch.”

Elizabeth Olsen has brushed off rumors that she and co-star Chris Evans are dating.
The 27-year-old actress was first romantically linked to Chris, 34, when they started working together on 2014 movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
But the pair dismissed allegations of a relationship as they appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday (May 2).
"Apparently we're dating," Chris said when asked about the romance rumours by the show host.
"But you seem compatible so…" Ellen fished.
Elizabeth then joked: "Well we’ve been dating for like secretly for the last three years... We're actually engaged."
When rumours first emerged that the pair were more than just co-stars, Chris ended up sending Elizabeth a message joking about the claims.
"I remember that," Chris laughed. "I remember sending you a text saying 'Hey guess what apparently we’re dating.' "
"Yeah and I was like 'Oh my god that’s really exciting for us',...

This column could be a lot of things. Like, what’s going on with those Iron Fist set photos? Danny Rand looks like people that used to go to Cu Boulder when I was in high school. One of my college roommates walked around NYC with bare feet for a few days and we all thought that was a horrible idea.
However, I got to go to one of the fan screenings for Captain America: Civil War thanks to my relentless tweeting of both the #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan hashtags and my propensity to constantly have Twitter open when I’m doing other things. That meant the good, old fashioned lining up with other excited Marvel fans experience last Thursday and I was all in for that.

The lawsuit over an aborted Fox Business reality series about estate sales continues to grow more and more contentious with the latest dispute between the warring parties involving whether Fox News chairman Roger Ailes has to submit to a deposition. To quickly review, Leftfield Pictures, the producer of History Channel's Pawn Stars, sued Fox News Network (parent company of Fox Business) for $4.5 million last July with the claim that it was in the middle of producing episodes when the cable network walked away from a deal. What made the lawsuit extra notable was that Leftfield's general counsel Chris

Though fans have been calling for solo movies featuring various Marvel characters who haven't received one so far, be it Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow or Mark Ruffalo's incarnation of The Hulk, one person isn't rushing to see his character get spun off.
Actor Anthony Mackie, out doing press rounds this week for the crime thriller "Triple 9," was asked by IGN if his "Captain America" character of Sam Wilson (aka. Falcon) might get his own solo movie one day. Mackie responded:
"I like going to work with good people. … To be able to go to work and meet these people and see the way they work and kind of delve into their process as well is really a learning experience for me. At a time when actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would kill for a film of their own, since it could be incredibly lucrative for them, there's one that sounds like he'd rather stick with team-up films. Anthony Mackie, who's played Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Ant-man, and shall once again don the wings in Captain America: Civil War, says he wouldn't relish the chance to fly solo.
"No. I don’t know, man" was his response when asked about the prospect by IGN during an interview to promote his new flick Triple 9. "I don’t know. I like going to work with good people. The past day has been absolutely teeming with DC news. Between the "Dawn of the Justice League" special, the "Suicide Squad" trailer, and all the goodies offered up by WB yesterday, it's almost as if Marvel ceased to exist for a hot second. But of course, we know that isn't at all the case. Despite the splash DC is making with their upcoming "Extended Universe," the Marvel train is still going full steam ahead. This year alone we'll be getting "Captain America: Civil War" and "Doctor Strange," and next year we'll be getting "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," an untitled Spider-Man flick, and finally, "Thor: Ragnarok." It's the last movie on the list that we're here to talk about.
Considering all the good content out there from Marvel, "Thor: Ragnarok" certainly seems like a mile away. That certainly doesn't stop the news from pouring in, especially since it's only...
