Alex passed away from a heart attack around or in the beginning of December, 2015, according to Justin Chon's video log, "In Memory Of Alex." Alex had worked with Justin back in 2011. His exact date of death is uncertain.

Alex J. Ankrom, 31, formerly of Boyertown, died Saturday, December 5, 2015, in Anaheim Regional Hospital, Anaheim, Calif., as a result of heart complications. He was born May 6, 1984, in Pottstown. Surviving, in addition to his parents, is his loving sister, Lyddia April Louise Ankrom of Anaheim. He was a 2002 graduate of Boyertown Area Senior High, a 2006 graduate of Boston University with a bachelor of science degree in political science/philosophy, a 2008 graduate of Boston University with a master's degree in creative writing and a 2011 graduate of American Film Institute with a master's degree in screenwriting. He stayed in California following his studies at American Film Institute to pursue a career as a writer. The writing bug hit him while attending college and never stopped because he always wanted the last word. He was an Academy Nicholl Fellowship semifinalist and quarterfinalist plus a Final Draft semifinalist for screenwriting. There will be no services.
