Tyler Perry’s Sistas has a premiere date for its eighth season. BET released a new poster and trailer to announce the popular drama's October return date. The series was renewed for season eight in April.

Kj Smith, Ebony Obsidian, Mignon Von, Novi Brown, Chido Nwokocha, DeVale Ellis, Crystal Renee’ Hayslett, Trinity Whiteside, Chris Warren, Joi Symone, Branden Wellington, and Stal Stowers star in the series, which follows a group of close-knit friends who deal with everything life throws at them together.

Who stabbed Gary and left him for dead on his wedding day? That mystery will unfold when Tyler Perry’s Sistas returns to BET for Season 8 on Wednesday, Oct. 16 (9/8c), TVLine has learned exclusively.

We can also confirm, by way of the trailer above, that Gary is not dead. The 30-second sneak peek includes a shot of Zac’s handmade murder board, which shows “Who Killed Gary?” crossed out and replaced by “Who Tried to Kill Gary?” As if something as simple as a stab wound could keep him down.

Sistas has promoted a member of its cast to series regular status. Viewers can expect to see more of Angela Beyincé in the BET drama. Season seven of Tyler Perry’s Sistas is currently airing on the cable channel on Wednesday nights. The series has not yet been renewed for an eighth season but continues to perform well in the ratings.
