Bette Midler is calling on Disney and urging them to get a script for Hocus Pocus 3.
The star of the Halloween film says she has not seen a script for the third installment, which has been in development following the success of the sequel last year on Disney+.
“I haven’t seen the script, but I’ve heard rumblings,” Midler said on the QVC+ talk show Busy This Week.
She continued, “I think if they’re gonna, they oughta because time is not just marching. Time is barrel-assing to the finish line. Get us while we’re still breathing, I mean, God!”
Hocus Pocus was first released in 1993 and directed by Kenny Ortega from a screenplay by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert and a story by David Kirschner and Garris. The film follows a trio of witches who are inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy on Halloween night.

Since the original Mortal Kombat launched in arcades more than three decades ago, the fighting game series has been known for one aspect that sets it apart from other fighting games: its grotesque and over-the-top gore.
This has been at the center of controversy ever since. Still, it has also taught both Nintendo and creator Ed Boon one valuable lesson about the series that has gone on to sell more than 80 million copies globally.
Mortal Kombat Was Sanitized for the Snes
Mortal Kombat launched on the Snes without its iconic gory fatalities.
In an article in 2014, the BBC shed light on the impact the fighting game series has had on the entire gaming industry ever since the original Mortal Kombat saw the light of day in arcades in 1992. When the game was ported to the Snes and the Sega Genesis, the controversy surrounding the game and its brutal visuals took off.

“There are no cheap parlor tricks here!” growls Locke (Armando Gutierrez), the cloak-swirling, goatee-twitching villain of Blake Harris and Chris Bouchard’s “The Little Mermaid,” providing such an easy way in for the disgruntled reviewer (and few will be gruntled) that it almost feels like a trap. Creaky visual effects, slapdash plotting and a script drunk on cliché: There’s pretty much nothing but cheap parlor trickery here.
The biggest trick of all, of course, is that though it feels like it was designed to capitalize on the confusion, this is neither the forthcoming Lin-Manuel Miranda-assisted Disney remake, nor Universal’s similarly titled, status-unknown project that formerly had Sofia Coppola and Chloë Grace Moretz attached. Nor does it bear much resemblance to the 1989 animated musical, or to the Hans Christian Andersen story that purportedly inspired all of the above. This is not the Disney live action version of The Little Mermaid. There are no talking crabs or adorable neon colored fish. This is the other live action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, based on Hans Christian Anderson’s original fairy tale. It looks… pretty much terrible, but maybe kind of wonderful? I don’t know. The setting (the circus in the South) and the apparent framing device (old person telling a story to younger relatives) do give me a sort of Big Fish vibe, which I love, but it also seems pretty much like a Feature Films for Families joint. I bet I would love it if I had grown up watching it without knowing it was bad, though. I still have affection for The Buttercream Gang after all.
This take on the classic follows a journalist and his little sister who travel to Mississippi to find a real mermaid.

There are certain rivalries that never die, no matter how much time has passed, no matter what has happened in the world. Coke vs. Pepsi. Rocky Balboa vs. Ivan Drago. The Harlem Globetrotters vs. The Washington Generals. And then there’s the battle that raged on in the early 1990s, still lasting until this day, between the people who loved their Sega gaming systems, and the people sitting firmly in camp Nintendo. Best bros and collaborators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have recognized the significance of this era of gaming and are taking Console Wars to the big screen, a film that chronicles the deep, dark war between the established company with beloved franchises (Nintendo) and the scrappy arcade folks with big dreams and creative characters — Sega, who re-entered the scene with the Sega Mega Drive. The various consoles have battled for years, with the blips and bleeps of Atari giving way to a bloodthirsty struggle between the titans of Nintendo and the upstarts at Sega. That battle is chronicled in the book Console Wars by Blake J. Harris, detailing how Sega would rise up to challenge the Nintendo behemoth from the 16 bit era and beyond. And with the book scheduled to hit this August, that struggle is about to become a movie. Coming Soon reports that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are currently adapting the book into a screenplay with an eye on directing. The duo previously helmed This Is The End, which grossed $100 million last summer and got them the job working on the political comedy The Interview, where Rogen reunited with Pineapple Express co-star James Franco. Apparently people like what...

Back in the 1990s, a war was waged in living rooms and playgrounds across America. One side touted the power of Blast Processing, while the other countered with Mode 7 graphics. Ugly slogans were born (“Sega does what Nintendon’t”), friendships shattered, and an Italian plumber was forced to take on a spunky blue hedgehog (and no, I’m not talking about Ron Jeremy) in a fight for video game supremacy. It was the great console war – a battle for the hearts and minds of gamers that pitted the juggernaut-like Nintendo against upstart arcade game makers Sega, and nothing less than living room superiority was at stake. Author Blake Harris has written a thriller-esque recounting of this vicious battle between two Japanese corporations in his upcoming book...

While the console wars are nothing new nowadays, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 being the latest to battle, back in the 1990s brought the first face-off between Sega and Nintendo, and launched a rivalry that would last years. Now the story of these two video game companies fighting for supremacy in quality games and graphics is heading to the big screen with Console Wars, and the comedic duo of Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (This is The End) will be directing and writing the film based on Blake J. Harris' book of the same name. In addition, The Social Network producer Scott Rudin is producing the project. Read on! Book Trade (via Kotaku) reported the news, and here's the book's synopsis: In 1990, Nintendo had a virtual monopoly on the video game industry. Sega, on the other hand, was just a faltering arcade company with big aspirations and even bigger personalities.

The creative partnership between Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg has led to many successful collaborations. Their most recent effort was This Is The End, which was absolutely hysterical and one of my favorite films from 2013. Currently, the duo is hard at work on Sausage Party, an animated comedy coming next year. Though production is still underway on that project, Rogen and Goldberg are already looking towards the future and according to Collider, they will be adapting Console Wars for their next outing together.
Based on the novel of the same name by Blake J. Harris, Scott Rudin will be producing with Goldberg and Rogen set to write and direct. As you can probably tell, the story follows the 1990s console war between Sony and Nintendo. You can check out the full plot summary below, courtesy of Amazon:

Video games continue to attract the attention of Hollywood, but this time instead of adapting one into a feature film, the games themselves will become the subject as Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are teaming to write and direct Console Wars based on the non-fiction book by Blake Harris, examining the rise of Sega in the face of Nintendo in the early '90s. Harris' book will hit bookshelves on May 13, 2014. Here's the synopsis: Following the success of The Accidental Billionaires and Moneyball comes Console Wars--a mesmerizing, behind-the-scenes business thriller that chronicles how Sega, a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary and a team of rebels, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video game industry. In 1990, Nintendo had a virtual monopoly on the video game industry. Sega, on the other hand, was just a faltering arcade company with big aspirations and even bigger personalities. But...

In the 1990s, an arms race kicked off in the living room between videogame makers Sega and Nintendo. From the Sega Master System to the DreamCast, from the Nintendo Entertainment System to Nintendo 64, the fight for which company could boast the best graphics and games — and move the most units — raged between them as they angled for market share. (And shed a tear for anyone who tried to elbow their way in — sorry TurboGrafx 16). And now that story is booting up to the big screen. Scott Rudin will produce an adaptation of the book "Console Wars" by Blake J. Harris with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to write and direct. The pair are a pretty spot on choice for this gig; not only do they have the right geek credentials, they were coming of age right at the time of the Sega/Nintendo showdown which should give them a solid...

Not content with developing both the Preacher TV series and their adult animation Sausage Party, Seth Rogen and Adam Goldberg have now picked up another gig. This one's for Sony Pictures and producer Scott Rudin, and will see the guys penning an adaptation of the forthcoming non-fiction book Console Wars, about the '90s rivalry between Sega and Nintendo.Blake Harris wrote the book, which will be published in August this year. Its full title is Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo And The Battle That Defined A Generation, and it deals with the corporate battles for market dominance over the arrivals of 16-bit consoles the Snes and the Sega Mega Drive.
