Imagine doing a job for decades, only to find out you’ve been living a lie, doing the dirty work for someone you didn’t even know existed. This is the core of Bob DeRosa’s movie— about clearing this confusion and conspiracy that’s turned his life upside down. “Classified” stars Aaron Eckhart as Evan Shaw, Tim Roth as Kevin Angler, Abigail Breslin as Kacey Walker, Matt Hookings as Antonio Griffin, and more.
Classified (2024) Plot Summary & Movie Synopsis: Who Is Shaw?

"Finish the mission... or you become the mission!" Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for the action thriller film titled Classified, another of these dime-a-dozen junk action films tossed on VOD. Never heard of it before and probably won't ever hear of it again. The storyline revolves around a veteran CIA agent and his daughter, who herself is an MI6 analyst. His daughter tracks him down and tells him his boss has been dead for years. He has been solely using the classified section of various newspapers to receive his orders - only to discover that his division's actually been shut down for a long time. They set out to find out who has actually been giving him his instructions and sending him on missions. Aaron Eckhart stars with Abigail Breslin, plus Tim Roth, Matt Hookings, Myles Clohessy, Kim DeLonghi, and Joe Azzopardi. This looks like another made-on-Malta tax write off.

Despite some serious star power on the bill, this lightweight sporting drama never gets off the ropes
There’s an interesting story to be told about Jem Belcher, the Bristol bare-knuckle prizefighter and Champion of All England in the early years of the 19th century who became a working-class hero and pop-culture icon mentioned by Dickens and Conan Doyle. This biopic is clearly a labour of love for its writer-producer-star Matt Hookings, himself the son of a boxing champion, David Pearce, the “Welsh Rocky”.
Hookings’ feature suggests that Belcher was the first star boxer, a pioneer of the modern sport – and speculates he was even one of the first to use gloves. But despite the film’s historical interest, it plays like a Carry On film without the gags, and the way it is shot makes it look like a coffee commercial. Russell Crowe rumbles and grumbles and grins his...

"You gotta know who you are in life. It's you who decides what kind of man you're gonna be." Signature Ent. in the UK has revealed an official trailer for a boxing historical drama titled Prizefighter, arriving on Prime Video for streaming in the UK this July. At the turn of the 19th century, Pugilism was the sport of kings and a gifted young boxer fought his way to becoming champion of England. The film tells the true story of Jem Belcher, brought up by his grandfather (Crowe), a former boxer now struggling with addiction. He decides to work with a renowned trainer and fight his way to the top of England. This sounds a lot like every other boxing movie, with the big difference that it's set in the distant past, just barely in the 1800s. Matt Hookings (who also wrote the screenplay) stars as Jem, alongside Russell Crowe,...

A dim-witted detective hunts a serial killer in this plodding and generic British crime drama
Filmed in a photogenic but seldom shot-in corner of England, with a cast of barely knowns and a budget raised independently, Winter Ridge is the kind of plucky, low-budget British feature one so wants to like. If only it weren’t so achingly middling to its core with decidedly shabby edges, like something acquired in a package deal by a desperate distributor in the last days of the film market at Cannes.
Matt Hookings stars as Ryan, a detective constable in a small town that is experiencing an unexpected surge in mysterious deaths of elderly people. Although Ryan seems an especially dim-witted officer, eventually he starts to suspect this may be the work of a serial killer. Or perhaps the elders are being knocked off by (try not to laugh) the local vicar, after he...
