Katy Perry’s album 143, which is out Sept. 20, has been a long time coming, marking her first LP since 2020’s Smile. The singer officially launched her 143 era in June when she dropped the lead single “Woman’s World.” The song immediately faced pushback for its stereotypical imagery — which Perry later said was intentional — and generic pop sound. Rolling Stone later confirmed that Perry had worked with some of the producers behind Teenage Dream and Prism, including Max Martin — and, to the disappointment of many, Dr. Luke.
Perry followed “Woman’s World” with the electro-pop single “Lifetimes.

Katy Perry is a beachside, motorcycle-riding baddie in the video for her new single “Lifetimes.” On Thursday, the pop star released the visual, which reveals the track list of her upcoming album, 143, and includes collabs with Kim Petras, Doechii, 21 Savage, and J.I.D.
The Stillz-directed video captures the singer during a recent trip to Spain, strutting on the shore in a bikini, riding a yacht with some friends, and throwing pizza to the crowd at a nightclub. The visual ends with a hungover Perry riding the train while drinking a bottle of water.

Katy Perry has opened the portal to her latest studio album 143 with “Woman’s World.”
The video features Perry waterfalling a bottle of “Whisky for Women,” brandishing a hot pink vibrator, and pretending to pee in a urinal all within the first 50 seconds of the song. Elsewhere, she gets crushed under a gigantic anvil and shoves a gas nozzle into her butt to refuel. Trisha Paytas also makes a cameo, pulling a huge monster truck by a rope before driving it with Perry sitting shotgun.

Justin Timberlake has dropped the music video for his new song, “Selfish,” ahead of a musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
The R&b-inspired video, directed by Bradley J. Calder, pulls back the curtain on Timberlake’s production process as he is seen seemingly in rehearsals on a soundstage as the line between the vulnerable artist and person blurs.
Timberlake starts off in casual clothing before upgrading to a black suit, where he fills a spotlight as he dances and sings alone on a dark stage. “Baby you got such a hold on me / So if I get jealous, I can’t help it / I want every bit of you / I guess I’m selfish,” Timberlake croons.
Midway through the video, Timberlake spots a brightly lit doorway that leads to a dollhouse-sized office he has difficulty navigating. At the end of the trailer, and after repeating the...

As expected, Justin Timberlake dropped his new single and video “Selfish” today, just ahead of tonight’s appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and two days before his appearance as musical guest on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
The single is the first from his upcoming, long-in-coming album Everything I Thought It Was. The album, set for a March 15 release by RCA, is his first since Man of the Woods in 2018.
“I worked for a long time on this album and I ended up with 100 songs,” Timberlake says in a promotional interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, released today to coincide with the single’s debut. “So narrowing them down to 18 was a thing, and then, yeah, I’m really excited about this album. I think every artist probably says this, but it is my best work.”

BTS’ Jung Kook recently released the Latto-assisted single “Seven” as an essential step forward in his solo career. This week, it was reported by the South Korean news outlet Ten Asia that the record shares similarities with “Time of Mask,” a song released by Fin.K.L in 2000, surfacing claims of copyright infringement and plagiarism. Ten Asia ran the original report citing Alpha Economy. In a statement to Rolling Stone, Big Hit Music dismissed those claims as being “one-sided.”

The 2023 Grammy Awards returned to the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday evening, and while Beyoncé made history by breaking the record for the most Grammy wins of all time, Harry Styles took home Album of the Year for his album “Harry’s House.” Styles also won Best Pop Vocal Album.
Beyoncé took home four awards, bringing her career total to 32 — enough to unseat composer Georg Solti as the winningest artist of all time. But this marks the fourth time in a row she’s lost Album of the Year. An astonishing fact for the Grammy record-holder.
Bonnie Raitt pulled an upset in Song of the Year for “Just Like That,” besting the likes of Lizzo, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé.
Lizzo, meanwhile, became the first Black woman to win Record of the Year since Whitney Houston in 1994 for “I Will Always Love You.” Lizzo won for “About Damn Time,” stressing the need for positive,...

In a surprise announcement, Lizzo will be the musical guest for “Saturday Night Live” next week, on Dec. 17, which will feature “Elvis” star Austin Butler as host.
Originally announced musical act the Yeah Yeah Yeahs had to cancel their appearance on the show due to guitarist Nick Zimmer’s battle with pneumonia.
“As many of our fans know, Nick has been sick with pneumonia the past month and it’s been an up and down recovery process,” the group wrote on Instagram. “The band’s top priority is supporting Nick through a full recovery. As a result we had to pull out of from our engagements at Kroq’s Acoustic Christmas and Saturday Night Live.”
Lizzo will become the second musical guest on “SNL” to assume that role twice this year, following Brandi Carlile’s second appearance of 2022 Saturday night. In April, Lizzo hosted as well as performed during the music slots.

The latest edition of the Hot 100 is overrun by Drake: Thanks to a bonanza of streaming, the star has 27 different songs on the chart. His streamers are impressively committed, fervent enough in their fandom that Drake single-handedly accounts for more than 50 percent of the Top 40. It’s a display of commercial dominance so emphatic, it’s almost cruel.
But Drake’s record-breaking feat forces a question: How do we track music consumption in the streaming era? The Hot 100 promises to capture “the week’s most popular current songs across all genres,...

Ciara's back! After taking some time off to break into motherhood and raise her adorable baby boy Future Zahir Wilburn, the songstress made her return to music and just released her first track "I Bet," close to two years after the release of her self-titled album. The Harmony Samuels-produced song is reminiscent of some of her slower tempo songs like "And I' and "Promise," with a catchy beat and background ad-libs by Theron Thomas of Rock City, who also co-wrote the song. But her new release leads to one obvious question—are these lyrics inspired by her recent breakup with rapper Future? Here are a few lines from the track: "I bet you start loving...
