Yvonne Wambui(I)
- Actress
Yvonne Wambui was born in Nairobi Kenya to nurse Evelyn Mvuyekure and
doctor Ben Mvuyekure. After her parents split she moved along with her
younger brother Thomas to Edmonton, Alberta to live with their mother.
From an early age Yvonne expressed a strong interest in literature. This led her to pursue a double major at the University of Alberta studying English Literature and Philosophy. Three years into her degree, while learning about the purpose and meaning of existence Yvonne experienced her own existential crisis. After her winter semester Yvonne admitted to her family that her true passion was in bringing stories to life and decided to focus her attention on acting.
She studied at the Vancouver Film School for 16 months, completing both the Acting Essentials and Full Time Acting for Film and Television program in April 2011. Five months later she enrolled in a second Full Time program at Vancouver Acting School and graduated in March 2012.
